Job Title: Clinical Technician
Location: Lansing, MI Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch) Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire Position Summary: We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Clinical Technician to support respiratory therapy services in a healthcare equipment setting. This role involves both in-office responsibilities and on-site visits to hospitals and assisted living facilities to assist with the setup, instruction, and troubleshooting of respiratory equipment. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, eager to learn, and passionate about patient care and technical support. Key Responsibilities: On-Site Clinical Support (Post-Training): * Assist Respiratory Therapists with the setup and explanation of respiratory equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, oxygen concentrators, nebulizers, etc.) * Educate patients and caregivers on proper equipment use and maintenance * Troubleshoot equipment issues and provide technical support * Ensure all documentation (delivery tickets, safety checklists, instruction forms) is completed accurately and timely * Travel locally using a company vehicle (1-2 hours max on travel days) In-Office Customer Service Support: * Serve as a Customer Service Representative when not in the field * Answer inbound and make outbound calls and emails to support patient needs * Process orders, verify insurance and referral information, and schedule equipment deliveries * Maintain accurate records and follow up on patient inquiries On-Call Responsibilities (Post-Contract): * Participate in a rotating on-call schedule (1-3 times/month) * Provide remote support during on-call hours (M-F 5-9 PM, Sat-Sun 9 AM-9 PM) * Receive a stipend for on-call availability, plus hourly pay for time spent on calls Qualifications: * High School Diploma or equivalent * Minimum 1 year of experience in healthcare administration, insurance, billing, or customer service * Strong communication skills (verbal and written) * Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new systems * Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently or as part of a team * Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology is a plus * Must be detail-oriented, adaptable, and customer-service oriented Skills: * Customer Service & Support * Technical Troubleshooting * Medical Equipment Knowledge * Insurance Verification & Billing * HIPAA Compliance * Call Center & Help Desk Experience * Microsoft Office Proficiency *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
