Principal Purpose of Position: Develop and direct Dynamet's Technology group, which includes Quality Assurance, Commercial Materials Laboratory, Technology Development, Process Engineering and customer support activities. Has authority and responsibility for definition, implementation and management of the Quality Management system, ISO/AS 9000 and NADCAP certification for multiple site locations (Dynamet Washington, PA, Dynamet Materials Laboratory, Bridgeville, PA, Dynamet Clearwater, FL and Dynamet Huntington Beach, CA). Establish goals, strategies, objectives, priorities and allocates resources in support of Dynamet's operating plan aimed at producing a reliable, cost-effective, consistent, quality product for our customers. Manage to ensure that expeditious metallurgical support is provided, when required, to Customers, Manufacturing, R&D, Operations Planning, and other departments as necessary. Evaluate, and execute when appropriate, requests for experimental orders. Exercises control to see that objectives are achieved in conjunction with plans and policies. Develop and maintain strong cooperative and productive working relationships with peers, subordinates and superiors in all departments. Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned. Achieves change related to culture transformation, process improvement and enhanced business results. Position Requirements Education and Training: Four year college degree in Engineering required. Material or Quality Sciences preferred. Advanced Degree a plus. Experience: Ten or more years of experience in direct Technology management at a senior level in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge: Business/Management Expertise: Applies broad business and management expertise to drive financial and operational performance across multiple departments and/or functions. Functional Expertise: Has extensive knowledge and experience within own function and general knowledge of areas, departments and/or function(s) within and across other disciplines. Strategic Planning: Executes departmental and functional business plans and contributes to the development of discipline strategies. Financial Management: Directs the allocation of resources to meet financial performance requirements. Other: Knowledge of Dynamet's manufacturing systems, processes and products. Knowledge of statistical analysis methodology. Knowledge of basic metallurgy, processing and alloys. Demonstrated results in product and process development. Skills/Abilities: Problem Solving: Directs the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems that cross functions and/or disciplines. Customer Focus: Negotiates with customers and/or organizational leadership to set priorities; builds organization capabilities to serve customer needs.
