*** This is a Temporary Position from June 22,2025 to July 11,2025 *** Job Summary: The Instructor-MITHS Program provides instruction and tutoring for high school students in the Minority Intro To Health Sciences (MITHS) program in mathematics and English subjects. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Math, English, Education or equivalent field required. Master's Degree preferred. Minimum one year teaching experience in English or Math required. Minimum three years of experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills: Expertise in, trigonometry, college algebra, calculus, writing skills, and reading comprehension. Knowledge of current technology and educational media used in teaching and presentations. Able to effectively communicate changes and instructions in a professional, effective and positive manner. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). Think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
