Overview

The HR Immigration Support Specialist at FlatironDragados is responsible for administering the U.S. immigration program and assisting with end-to-end immigration procedures to ensure lawful work authorizations. This role involves guiding and advising business partners on immigration matters to support decision-making processes.



What you will be doing

* Responsible for managing the organization's strategy for the global movement of talent, including immigration, relocation, and international assignments.
* Manage international assignments, short- and long-term relocations, and permanent transfers, ensuring a smooth employee experience.
* Administer U.S. immigration program and assist with end-to-end immigration procedures.
* Respond to and administer high volume of U.S. immigration queries from HR partners, managers, employees, and internal recruiters.
* Support completion and timely submission of required information, including preparing petitions/applications for various immigration and nonimmigration visas.
* Prepare individuals for interviews with immigration officials and initiate permanent residence cases.
* Monitor immigration status of sponsored employees and provide guidance to affected stakeholders.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key business clients and HR teams.
* Deliver training and updates to HR, business leaders, and employees regarding policy changes and best practices.
* Proactively manage and escalate risks impacting employees' immigration status to stakeholders.
* Coordinate and lead communications with in-house stakeholders and external immigration and legal advisors.
* Recommend alternatives to leaders for employees whose visa applications are not approved.
* Design, develop, establish, and maintain immigration program standards based on best practices.
* Contribute to improving and maintaining immigration-related resources and deliver ongoing stakeholder education.
* Closely monitor changes in immigration regulations and assess program impacts for compliance.
* Conduct regular audits of immigration and mobility records and processes to ensure compliance and data integrity.
* Manage external service providers (e.g., immigration firms, relocation vendors, tax advisors) to ensure high-quality, cost-effective services.
* Track and review vendor invoices related to U.S. immigration activities.
* Apply basic lean concepts and practices to enhance programs and reduce waste.
* Maintains knowledge of Company's Core Values and strategic plan.
* Supports published corporate policies.
* Performs additional assignments per management's direction.



What we are looking for

* Bachelor's Degree from an accredited program in Human Resources or related field.
* Minimum of 2-3 years of experience with US immigration in both nonimmigration and immigration visas.
* Experience in construction or construction-related industries preferred.
* Excellent professional verbal and written business communications skills.
* Strong project management, organizational, time management, prioritization, and follow-up practices.
* Experience with developing policy, training, and communications.
* Highly developed intercultural awareness and sensitivity.
* High degree of integrity and ability to handle sensitive and confidential data.
* Solid solution and data-oriented approach to problem-solving using analytical skills.
* Foreign language plus.
* Proficient computer skills, including advanced MS Excel skills and HRIS.
