The Ohio Turnpike & Infrastructure Commission is seeking a Technical Analyst to work in our Maintenance/Engineering Department at our Administration Building in Berea, Ohio.

Examples of Duties

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Develops and manages asset management/maintenance management software and/or database solutions to collect, compile, report, and analyze maintenance work data, including work activities, equipment, materials, and labor.
  • Reviews data for technical accuracy.
  • Compiles and analyzes data to generate reports, dashboards, and graphics.
  • Designs and manages department's webpage and shared files, including electronic forms, databases, and computer graphics and animation, using advanced equipment and/or design software.
  • May perform duties related to the Geographic Information System (GIS).
  • Develops and prepares requisitions and specifications for the ordering of materials, equipment and supplies related to infrastructure maintenance.
  • Reviews and evaluates bids, proposed products, and invoices.
  • Provides department support for the management of service contracts related to infrastructure maintenance.
  • Responds to inquiries from vendors, contractors, field staff, and general public.
  • Performs any other duties as may be assigned by the Maintenance Engineer.

  • Ability to comprehend and interpret a variety of technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and instructions.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to carry out detailed instructions.
  • Handle sensitive inquiries from vendors, contractors, officials, customers and the general public.
  • Gather, collate and classify information about data, people or things.
  • Work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Skill and knowledge in the use of a computer, asset management, maintenance management and/or database software, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of webpage design and various related software.
  • Ability to write and edit reports, specifications, and other technical documents.
  • Ability to answer detailed internal and external inquiries.
  • Ability to learn Commission purchasing, requisition, and receiving policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a related technical/business field of study; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Three (3) years prior experience or training in a comparable technical field.
  • Experience and/or training in office practices, procedures, and technical writing.
  • Must possess proficiency in the use of computer equipment and programs including asset management, maintenance management, and/or database software, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid State of Ohio driver's license.

Supplemental Information

Unusual Working Conditions

  • May be exposed to dirt, grease, dust, unpleasant odors, and loud noises when working in the field.
  • Some travel throughout the distance of the Ohio Turnpike may be required for the completion of above duties.
