Position Summary

The Director of Secondary Markets is responsible for investor relationships, pricing strategies, hedge model and pipeline risk mitigation, and overseeing all day-to-day activities involved in the selling and delivery of loans directly to the applicable agencies or secondary markets. As a people leader, the Director will ensure support is provided as needed to both direct and indirect reports creating a culture of excellence and acting as a servant leader.

Pipeline/Investor Analysis:



  • Utilizing mortgage backed security knowledge to analyze best execution models on loan sales and make independent decision to the timing of commitments
  • Obtaining competitive MBS TBA trade bids from broker dealers.
  • Executing MBS TBA trades with broker dealers
  • Executing whole loan bulk and best effort sales and obtaining applicable bulk commitments
  • Analyzing results from running risk management system to produce daily mark to market reports
  • Loan registrations, best effort rate locks and investor confirmations.
  • Monitoring agencies, investors, and programs to determine opportunities to serve our customer base while managing counterparty risk
  • Assist President with investor contracts, relationship management, and warehouse facility maintenance
  • Work closely with Legal and FP&A as necessary related to job duties, contractual agreements, and covenant management

  • Provide support to all direct and indirect reports as needed in day-to-day activities
  • Hold monthly one on one conversations with direct and indirect reports to ensure proper development plans are in place and applicable steps are being taken; obtain and address feedback to ensure a culture of excellence
  • Provide and document feedback with both direct and indirect reports.
  • Work closely with the Mortgage Leadership Team to develop and execute on vision and strategy of business as applicable.

  • Manage monthly/quarterly and annual investor certifications
  • Reporting to Executive Management all applicable loan sale results and other stats
  • Due Diligence support for Warehouse Facility relationships and annual certifications
  • Maintain applicable job responsibilities, compensation plans, and team management responsibilities

Training



  • Complete all position skill sets presented in training program
  • Complete quarterly and annual compliance courses





Qualifications and Preferred Skills



  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience working in mortgage capital markets or secondary markets including delivery
  • Financial modeling experience required
  • Strong analytical and negotiating skills
  • Excellent ability to build and maintain professional relationships both internally and externally
  • Strong skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and database systems (including third-party market data sources)
  • Strong SQL reporting analysis and configuration skills
  • Highly motivated, goal oriented, with excellent time management




Education and Certification Requirements



  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • BA/BS College degree preferred - Finance/Accounting

  • Position Title: Director, Secondary Marketing
  • Salary Range: $135,000-$175,000 USD
  • Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Employer HSA Match, Life & Disability Insurance, Paid Time Off, Volunteer Time Off, ID Theft Protection Plan and more. Benefits are based on employment status and may not be available for temporary or part-time employees.



Salary ranges may vary based on location, market conditions, and other factors such as experience and qualifications. The final compensation will be determined during the hiring process based on these considerations.
