We are Certified "Great Place to Work" DESCRIPTION: The Building Enclosure Senior Consultant leads the development and execution of building enclosure projects of high scope complexity and the highest technical quality. Duties include developing and executing a specific project plan, delivering high quality products and services to the client in a timely manner, managing project financials, and serving as the primary contact between the SSR project team and the client. Serves as a trusted technical advisor on matters to the client and external team. Manages the client relationship to support the development of future business. Provides mentoring to Project Manager I and II, and EITs on their assigned projects. The Building Enclosure Senior Consultant manages multiple projects including facility assessments and investigations, corresponding repair design and construction administration, field testing as needed, and new construction commissioning (Total Project Success). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develops accurate proposals, narratives, and presentations for clients
- Performs project management duties for the team on assigned projects through the establishment and management of the project plan, which is made up of team man-hour budgets, project schedule, quality control
- Coordinates across service lines with SSR client relationship managers to support relationships and grow business development activities
- Completes the project scope and requirements with the client and other stakeholders and communicates project scope and requirements to the project team
- Anticipates issues affecting clients or SSR expectations and is able to address; exhibits trust to the client through experience and technical knowledge serving as a trusted advisor
- Provide technical consulting expertise, demonstrate competence to customers, and develop strategic plans for the Building Enclosure team.
- Identifies activities required of the project team, schedules activities, communicates schedule information to the project team, and monitors manpower requirements
- Coordinates activities of the project team
- Organizes, schedules, and attends meetings with contractors, clients, and/or the BE team to schedule activities, discuss progress, and resolve issues as they arise
- Prepares and implements a proactive Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) plan for projects
- Performs condition assessments and failure investigations of existing buildings
- Designs repairs to correct the root cause of investigated building enclosure issues
- Coordinates and directs enclosure testing
- Oversees the profitability of the project by negotiating fees and contracts as may be appropriate, participating in the budgeting process, and ensuring that invoices are accurate and delivered in a timely manner
- Identifies, negotiates, and administers fees for additional services
- Schedules work, communicates schedule information to the project team, and monitors manpower requirements
- Facilitates communication between the client and the project team; documents important issues
- Coordinates activities of the project team and contractors during the design and construction phases
- Performs project job site visits to investigate field conditions, monitor progress, and ensure conformance to design specifications, owner expectations, and building codes during construction
- Coordinates with other disciplines to determine equipment needs, implement operating procedures, and provide technical information
- Monitors accounts receivables on projects and initiates corrective action as needed
- Prepares the final reports and client project closeout documents
- Supervises the SSR job close out process to ensure documentation, lessons learned, and filings are complete
- Participates in planning and budgeting processes, which includes preparing monthly billing projections and budget metrics as required by management
- Assists management in the training and mentoring of less experienced colleagues within the BE group
- Assists management in the evaluation of less experienced colleagues within the BE group
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS: KNOWLEDGE
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) software
- Knowledge of project approach and systems design
- Knowledge of building enclosure systems (roofing, below grade waterproofing, or vertical wall systems)
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations
- General knowledge of accounting and how to create and maintain budgets
- Knowledge of construction procurement and design development processes
- Knowledge of marketing and sales techniques

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
- Twenty years related project experience
- Professional Engineer or Registered Architect preferred

- Requires the ability to climb stairs and move around a job site for several hours at a time
- Requires the ability to transport equipment weighing up to 30 pounds
