Description
As part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University is seeking a Coordinator of Health Professions Pathways Program who will provide assistance in creating programming that supports recruiting and educating talented and diverse students for the health professions academic programs. The Coordinator of Health Professions Pathway Programs is a self-starter with exceptional organization, event planning, and relational skills. The coordinator needs the ability to represent Marian University in a positive and professional way to diverse populations. Additionally, the coordinator will collaborate with professionals in various divisions across Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values and honoring the legacy of the founding congregation through transformative education, unity in diversity, leadership through service, integrating faith and life, and institutional policies.
- Healthcare Camp: The coordinator is responsible for the planning and logistics work of the annual healthcare summer camp, including, but limited to, housing arrangements, dining orders, camper and parent communication, supply ordering, camp counselor hiring, IT and facilities work orders, and more.
- K-12 School Group Visits: The coordinator is responsible for organizing and hosting groups of students from K-12 schools as well as recruiting and training the current students and faculty to lead medical simulations for these groups.
- Community Outreach Events: The coordinator is responsible for organizing and planning the logistics involved with staffing student and faculty volunteers for the health fair and health screening components of community outreach events like Indiana Black and Minority Health Fair, Indiana Latino Expo Health Fair and Black Men in White Coats Youth Summit.
- Pre-Health Student Communication and Outreach: The coordinator is responsible for communicating with pre-health undergraduate students at Marian University to encourage them to participate in pathway events like healthcare camp, school group visits, etc.
- Student Organization and Event Assistance: The coordinator will provide assistance to health professions student organizations in their event planning and logistics work like room reservations, catering orders, IT and facility's needs, etc.
Required Qualifications
- An associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred
- Previous experience with event planning desired.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of Marian University
- Excellent verbal, written, collaborative, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to prioritize and perform multiple projects concurrently, and work under minimal supervision.
- Communicate effectively with internal & external groups.
