Description

Support high-level missile defense operations as a Test Engineer, Journeyman at Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station. In this role, you'll ensure system effectiveness by planning and executing rigorous test procedures on radar and missile defense systems. Your analysis will directly impact national defense capabilities through operational testing and evaluation.

Salary Range: $123,000 - $140,000

Essential Duties

Test Planning & Design



  • Develop detailed test plans and procedures to evaluate system performance.
  • Translate software and hardware requirements into executable test activities.
  • Identify operationally realistic test methods, including live, virtual, or simulated events.


Data Collection & Analysis



  • Use MATLAB and JMP to analyze test data and assess mission-critical system behavior.
  • Apply statistical principles and Design of Experiments (DoE) to develop data sampling plans.
  • Validate test data through dry runs and provide technical feedback.


Documentation & Reporting



  • Generate test reports that include data analysis, system evaluations, and findings.
  • Submit deficiency reports for any identified limitations or enhancement opportunities.
  • Create and present briefings that accurately reflect test results and recommendations.


Collaboration & Oversight



  • Collaborate with other analysts and engineers to review and refine test documentation.
  • Participate in all phases of test execution with an emphasis on operational requirements.
  • Lead and verify data collection efforts during test events.


Required Qualifications



  • Minimum 4 years of experience in test design, analysis, and test support involving Ground-Based Radar systems or similar technical environments.
  • Experience conducting test and evaluation in operational settings.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in evaluating test results.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Proficiency in MATLAB and JMP for data analysis.
  • Working knowledge of Design of Experiments (DoE) principles.
  • Familiarity with USAF and USSF test and evaluation directives.
  • Ability to analyze system data for deficiencies in reliability, maintainability, and availability.
  • Background in Developmental or Operational Testing.


Education & Certification



  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
    Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree.


Required Clearance



  • Secret with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI
