Job Overview
Responsible for providing leadership direction and management of resources for the day-to-day operations of the inpatient pharmacy. Additional Information Department: Pharmacy Hours per week: 40, eligible for benefits Shift: Monday - Friday, daytime hours (variable). This role will also require on-call, along with evening and weekend coverage as needed. Eligible Incentives: Relocation assistance available for qualified external applicants. Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSPharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
- Experience: Four (4) years of pharmacist experience, including two (2) years pharmacy practice in a hospital setting
- Equivalency:
- Completion of a Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) pharmacy residency is considered equivalent to two (2) years of professional pharmacy experience in a hospital setting.
- Completion of a Postgraduate Year Two (PGY2) pharmacy residency is also considered equivalent to two (2) years of professional pharmacy experience, for a total of up to four (4) years when combined with PGY1.
- Completion of a combined Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL) residency is considered equivalent to four (4) years of professional pharmacy experience.
- Licensure: Licensure as a pharmacist in the state of Colorado or eligible to sit for licensure
- Direct people leadership in a formal capacity highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develops and coordinates operationally related quality and safety improvement programs addressing personnel competency, compounding, dispensing, and inventory control with the goal of ensuring the safe and efficient provision of services by the department. Conducts quality assurance monitoring and auditing to demonstrate compliance with hospital and department policy and procedures, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
- Develops annual work plans used to achieve goals and performance metrics.
- Participates in leadership activities for division, contributing to the achievement of goals and objectives; evaluates team performance. Defines and maintains internal processes for function; establishes customer service standards and handles operational and customer service escalations for function. Serves as a champion of enterprise-wide culture, influencing culture change to support functional objectives.
- Manages communications to the enterprise on projects and hot topics related to functional area. Maintains effective working relationships with peers in division, peers in other divisions, and senior leadership.
- Assigns and reviews work, provides work instruction (OTJ or formal training) and develops team members. Evaluates performance of team members, providing continuous feedback. Manages discipline and performance issues, hires, and fires team members. Identifies resource needs and develops recommendations for meeting needs.
- Participates in developing budget recommendations, monitoring budget, and identifying cost saving opportunities
- Works on highly complex or controversial projects; performs project management activities. Provides technical expertise on programs, processes, and best practices.
- Ensures compliance against federal, state, and local regulations for functional area.
Salary Information Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $150,808.54 to $226,212.81
