Richard Wolf Medical Instruments Corporation is currently seeking a Manufacturing Apprenticeship Trainer in Vernon Hills, IL. The Manufacturing Apprenticeship Trainer is responsible for providing comprehensive training for the Manufacturing Apprenticeship program. Coach and mentor apprentices to ensure the development of skills & knowledge while promoting a positive, team environment.

REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates, arranges and conducts training for the Manufacturing Apprenticeship program.
  • Communicates clear objectives for learning activities.
  • Utilizes a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities to meet the apprentices varying needs.
  • Promotes a team environment to achieve common goals, as well as give and receive constructive feedback.
  • Lead by example and promote Richard Wolf Core Values.
  • Monitors training progress and provide updates to the Technical Services Manager.
  • Prepares apprentices for the successful completion of the apprenticeship program including GACC examinations.
  • Be the first point of contact for any concerns regarding the apprentices in the absence of the Technical Services Manager.
  • Assists with procuring the required materials, tools and equipment for the apprenticeship program.
  • Represents the apprenticeship program to internal and external partners.
  • Proactively coordinates with RWMIC Department Managers to identify and promote learning opportunities for the apprentices as it regards the various work and product manufacturing within the business.
  • Assists the Technical Services Team as needed (i.e. work instructions, tooling, process improvement, etc.).

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Aware of and comply with the RWMIC Quality Manual and regulations & requirements as they apply to this job type/position.
  • Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned by Technical Services Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Vocational/Technical Education required; AA or AS Degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of production related experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of training experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with strong follow-up on plans and action items.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to promote a team environment.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Hands on experience with mechanical principles, machinery, and common hand tools.
  • Intermediate PC skills and proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Proficient in Imperial and Metric Measurement Systems.
  • Proficient in creating work instructions.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints/schematics.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Experience using measuring instruments such as: gauges, micrometers, and calipers
  • Knowledge of design and function of endoscopic instrumentation preferred.
  • Experience with and understanding of multi-cultural and multi-generational differences and the ability to work within this environment is crucial for successful employment.
  • The following physical demands are required:
    1. Lift/Carry 25+ pounds
    2. Bend/Stoop/Kneel 4 hours per day
    3. Stand/Sit/Walk 8 hours per day
    4. Push/pull 50+ pounds

    4. UV Light exposure
