Job Summary:
Intero Psychedelic Therapy (Intero) is an outpatient Ellie Mental Health Specialty Clinic dedicated to the advancement of psychedelics in the field of mental health. Being a therapist at Intero is an excellent opportunity for experienced therapists to have a mixed practice of individual therapy and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. In a typical week as a therapist at Intero, you will lead part of your caseload through the psychedelic-assisted treatment model and maintain the other part of your caseload conducting either psychedelic-informed psychotherapy, or other therapy modalities you find fulfilling. You will also attend weekly Intero team meetings to consult about Intero's specialty services, contribute to innovation in the field, and collaborate on an integrated team with medical providers and other Intero staff members.

Compensation:
  • This is a non-exempt position. Total earnings for this position will range from $29,000 - $90,000 annually, depending on compensation model selected, full-time or part-time status, number of client sessions per week, licensure, experience, and average reimbursement rate.
Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Master's degree or higher in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields from an accredited college or university.
  • Required completion of approved external Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy training (most often completed modules 1 and 2 from Polaris Insight Center), or approved equivalent.
  • Candidates must be a fully independently licensed mental health professional (LICSW, LMFT, LPCC, LP) in the state of Minnesota
  • Experience in helping clients navigate non-ordinary states of consciousness.
  • Experience completing DAs, treatment plans, clinical case notes.
  • Clinical experience across multiple domains/settings of mental health work.
  • Clinical experience to assist clients in de-escalation and crisis.
  • Experience working with various mental health concerns including trauma.
  • Knowledge of the effects of psychedelics: Ketamine, and desire to learn about new psychedelic substances as they become available.
  • Ability to navigate Spotify playlists and choose music for KAP sessions.
  • Eclectic theoretical orientation and open to learning new psychotherapy modalities.
  • Exhibit good judgement, honesty, integrity, responsibility, time management, and punctuality.
  • Ability to analyze issues and suggest or determine solutions in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Proficient in utilizing computers, typing, and navigating multiple applications/systems simultaneously such as Microsoft Office products, EHR systems, etc.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality handling client information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines and Ellie policies
  • Demonstrates awareness, inclusivity, sensitivity, humility, and experience in working with individuals from diverse ethnic backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses, sexual orientations, gender identities, and other various aspects of culture

Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluate client's mental health diagnoses, create, and implement appropriate treatment plans with accompanying documentation in a timely fashion.
  • Engage in-depth on-the-job training and consultation with clinical leadership team to ensure ethical practice and service delivery.
  • Provide psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy (currently ketamine) following the Intero protocol, including the 4-phase process of assessment, preparation, treatment, and integration.
  • Work in collaboration/co-facilitation with medical professionals throughout the 4-phase process.
  • Regularly review Intero-specific clinical documents, e.g. the ketamine-assisted psychotherapy manual, ketamine-assisted therapy preparation and aftercare instructions, and Intero program processes including documentation, billing, scheduling, etc.
  • Maintain excellent customer service for clients while collaborating with a dynamic team to further the mission of filling gaps in our community.
  • Utilize creativity in interventions to help clients achieve and exceed goals.
  • Coordinate services with case managers, families, work personnel, medical personnel, other Ellie staff, and school staff as needed, including supporting clients with obtaining medical clearance to proceed with ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, as applicable/appropriate.
  • Attend and participate in all clinical staff meetings, discussions regarding ethics within the psychedelic-assisted clinical field, and trainings.
  • Check and review company communications daily, via Teams and email to remain updated about company-wide and Intero-specific updates.
