IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. seeks a Senior Manager, Market Strategy & Development in Scarborough, ME (telecommuting from home is permitted approximately 3 days per week) to research, identify, define, and implement market development and marketing strategies to create new market opportunities and drive adoption of IDEXX water testing solutions worldwide. IDEXX Water is the global leader in water microbiology, providing tests that ensure the safety of drinking water and other water types for over two billion people in 100 countries around the world. The Senior Manager, Market Strategy & Development estimates demand and identifies potential markets for IDEXX water testing solutions; develops communication, pricing, and other growth strategies to acquire and retain business-to-business (B2B) customers; works with research and development, product management, marketing, technical support, sales staff and distributors to help IDEXX improve its value proposition and differentiate and increase usage of its products while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Specific core duties of this position include developing and implementing strategies for accelerating national regulatory approvals and international standards inclusions for IDEXX water products on five continents; identifying, developing, analyzing and implementing traditional and digital marketing strategies based on IDEXX's objectives and product and market characteristics; creating, implementing, and managing national and regional marketing initiatives to translate regulatory approvals into product adoption; and identifying and assessing strategic new markets for IDEXX Water products, including through detailed modeling and financial projections, and coordinating with internal regional marketing teams to pursue commercial opportunities. This position is responsible for creating and growing relationships with industry leaders, intermediary companies, academics, and industry groups to facilitate market growth for IDEXX Water products; deploying cutting edge tools to understand customers' perceptions of IDEXX and its value propositions, developing and delivering strategic technical content through presentations and scientific and industry publications; documenting and promoting internal best practices and efficiencies, utilizing strategic marketing tools to support relevant policy and advocacy initiatives in the water industry; supporting internal regional marketing teams with strategic marketing content; identifying, researching, developing, analyzing and managing plans to address high-value market opportunities; monitoring and responding to policy developments in key global commercial markets; supporting partner organizations with strategic messaging to customers and key stakeholders; guiding IDEXX participation in third-party technical studies supporting water market development efforts; coordinating and collaborating with cross functional, technical, and global teams to implement and ensure successful marketing initiatives and strategies; and setting and managing direct expense budgets. Position requires a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and two years of experience managing national and international B2B initiatives for technology-based companies located in multiple countries and providing strategic planning, strategic marketing and market development for deployment across multiple geographies. Travel is required once per quarter to other IDEXX worksites or industry for trips averaging 2-3 days. This position is eligible for IDEXX's Employee Referral Program.
