Job Purpose

The Software QA and Operations unit under the Digital Services Development (DSD) division of American Honda Motors (AHM) is responsible for seamless development, security, and operations for customer facing mobile apps and integration of various back offices to expand the digital services. The DevOps and Infrastructure Engineer Lead is required to bring a framework that integrates security into all phases of the software development lifecycle to lead the advancement of scalable digital services and bring innovation toward the next evolution technology products. The engineer must be highly motivated and experienced in mobile app and application development infrastructure to promote continuous integration, delivery, agility, and methodologies to reach the AHM future-focused goals. This position is also responsible for leading other contingents.

Key Accountabilities



  • Management of tier 1 mobile and back-office infra-architectures and building scalable environments
  • Management of automated build and deployment into the US, Canada, and Mexico markets. Ensure management of yearly KPI target of 500 application integrations and deployments
  • Support alignment of enterprise security practices and privacy compliance. Management of zero security vulnerability KPI target
  • Management of reliable CI/CD pipeline, automation, monitoring, incident
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to global, regional, onshore and offshore teams



Qualifications, Experience and Skills



  • BS in computer science, information systems, or computer engineering
  • Minimum 8+ years professional experience in IT
  • Minimum 6 years as an Engineer Lead
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, and Security
  • SCM Tools: GIT, CVS, Subversion, Clear case, Clear quest, JIRA, Ant, Maven, Hudson & Jenkins, Cruise control, Bitbucket
  • Operating Systems: UNIX, Linux (Red Hat), Solaris, Windows
  • Database: Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, Postgres
  • Languages: C/C++, Java, YAML, Groovy, Node.js, Angular, React
  • Scripting Languages: UNIX Shell Scripting, Python, Groovy, Bash
  • Other Tools: Cobertura, Sonarqube, Datadog, Elastic Search, AppDynamics, Fluent D, Kibana, Grafana, Prometheus, Confluence, AMQ, WASCE-MQ, Docker, Kubernetes, Serverless API,
  • Alexa Skill, Veracode, Elastic Mem Cache
  • Web Technologies: HTML, DHTML, XML, XSLT
  • Application Server: IBM Web Sphere, Web Logic, Tomcat, JBOSS, Open Shift
  • Configuration Management: Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform
  • Cloud Front: AWS, Verizon CAAS, Azure, GCP
  • API Design: Swagger and Swagger HUB
