General Statement of Responsibilities:

Boynton Health at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities seeks a Communications Specialist with communications planning experience. This position plays an important role in supporting the on-campus health clinic and programs.

We are searching for a driven, detail-oriented communications professional. The communications professional will work with clinical staff and other University stakeholders to reach our target audiences with messaging related to health and wellbeing.

Boynton's mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of University of Minnesota students and the campus community. Our vision is to be the healthiest campus in the nation. The Communications Specialist is part of a marketing and communications team that includes a Senior Graphic Designer, Communications Specialist, and Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications.

This position is on-site with hybrid flexibility.

Detailed Job Responsibilities:

Marketing/Communications Planning & Project Management - 50%:

  • Create and implement strategic marketing plans for Boynton clinics and initiatives
  • Develop and execute communications campaigns to boost awareness of Boynton Health
  • Collaborate with internal departments to establish campaign objectives, complete tasks, and identify and solve problems.
  • Work with executive leadership to support internal communications.

Content Development & Editing - 15%:

  • Write, review, edit, and update content for Boynton Health emails, social media, website/webpages, marketing materials, digital displays, and similar platforms.

Email, Website & Social Media Support - 15%:

  • Support mass email communications and website updates for Boynton Health.

Event Support - 10%:

  • Support outreach plans to support attendance at Boynton-sponsored events.
  • Attend University of Minnesota events on behalf of Boynton Health
  • Present to large groups on Boynton Health's services and priorities

Other - 10%:

  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, exploring equity, diversity, and inclusion best practices, and staying up-to-date on current trends
  • Participate in Boynton and University committees as required
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and promote Boynton Health
  • Provide emergency communications support as needed

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $27-$30 hourly depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 100% Appointment

Position Type: Civil-Service & Non-Faculty Labor Represented Staff
