Job Summary

Reporting to the Chief Ambulatory Officer, the Physician Liaison serves as the primary representative of Grady Health System to external physician practices. This role is essential in building and strengthening referral relationships, expanding Grady's network, and enhancing patient access to care.


Key Responsibilities


  • Act as the main point of contact for external physician practices, serving as a representative of Grady Health System.



  • Build and sustain strong relationships between Grady-affiliated physicians and referring providers throughout the Atlanta area.



  • Conduct outreach and surveys to local primary care and specialty providers to increase patient referrals to Grady.



  • Meet with referring physicians and practice managers to cultivate cross-specialty collaboration.



  • Coordinate meetings and events to connect Grady's specialty physicians with external referring providers.



  • Monitor referral patterns, identify and address gaps in the referral loop, and ensure follow-through on patient care.



  • Collaborate with the Marketing team on initiatives to promote services and improve referral volume.



  • Partner with Referral Coordinators and Practice Administration leadership to streamline referral workflows.



  • Serve as the main liaison for high-impact private medical practices, ensuring efficient scheduling and service delivery for referred patients.



  • Develop and lead outreach programs that inform external providers about Grady's services, specialties, and innovations.



  • Track competitor activity and market trends to help Grady differentiate itself and improve referral strategies.



  • Plan and host educational events-including lunch-and-learns and workshops-for referring physicians and their staff.




Education

Required:




  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, marketing, business, or a related field




Experience

Required:




  • At least two (2) years of experience in a medical practice setting



  • Prior experience in a healthcare liaison, sales, or marketing role-preferably within a hospital or health system



  • Familiarity with healthcare operations and medical terminology



  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities



  • Ability to travel frequently to external physician offices, clinics, and healthcare facilities




Skills/Certifications

Required:




  • Proven ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with physicians, practice managers, and healthcare providers



  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills



  • Ability to interpret referral data, identify trends, and implement improvements



  • Strong organizational and coordination skills



  • Collaborative mindset with experience working across marketing, referral coordination, and administrative teams
