Position Summary Information


Primary Purpose
This role assists the Head Beach Volleyball Coach with camps and the Summer High School Institute. To support the program staff in planning and successfully hosting Camps and Clinics offered to the public. This individual will have the opportunity to work side by side with other colleagues interested in the sport and sharing the excitement of sports, health and athleticism with the community attending.
Essential Functions

  • Camp Operations will be responsible for assisting with the preplanning and scheduling of camps for the program. This includes composing NCAA compliant advertisement for the camp, working with key staff to setup and promote the camp, and recruiting for Camp Counselors.
  • Camp Operations will assist in overseeing and managing Camp Counselors, including scheduling and training of personnel.
  • Camp Operations will be responsible assisting with reconciliation of program camps, working closely with the Head Coach, Assistant Coaches (if applicable) and the Business Office for finalization of each Camp.
  • Camp Operations will provide instruction and leadership to a group/individuals in the skills and techniques of sports.
  • Camp Operations will be responsible for leading group/individuals in activity with proper oversight to successfully integrate the lesson, in a safe manner, reducing risk of injury.
  • Instructs and evaluates campers with the ability to curtail instruction to meet the needs and abilities of the students.
  • Must be punctual and organized.
  • Must be approachable and energetic.
  • Ability to work with varying age groups, with varying levels of skills and abilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High School education, or High School Diploma, or GED.
  • One (1) year of experience with Sports Summer Camps.
  • One (1) year of experience working with children of all ages.


Preferred Qualifications


  • CPR certification.
  • Experience playing, managing or coaching specific sport.
  • Knowledge of the sport.
  • Ability to demonstrate skills as required for camp instruction content.
  • Ability to work with varying age groups.
  • Ability to lead a group in activity with proper oversight to successfully integrate the lesson as well as do so in a safe manner, reducing risk of injury.
  • Ability to work independently.

Work Environment/Work Week/Travel:
Flexible schedule required to accommodate long hours and after-hours events. Work performed during odd hours, nights, and weekends, minimal overtime may be necessary based on business needs and camp schedule.

Valid driver's license required. Incumbent must also be able to meet the University's fleet rules and be eligible to drive for University business. The University and its insurance carrier reserve the right to exclude applicants based on their driving record.
Hiring Range $16.50 per hour. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
