Description

The Center for Leadership Studies seeks the ideal candidate for the position of Executive Fellow for the fall of 2025, with eligibility for reappointment in subsequent semesters.

The Executive Fellow will lead the university's character in leadership initiative funded by Eli Lilly under a rant administered by Wake Forest University from July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026.

Launching in 2017, these small (12-student) seminars target junior and senior undergraduates at the university, founded on a model that posits that successful leaders must be visionary, ethical, engaging, tactical, technical and reflective. Integrating these qualities includes a focus on strategic planning, communications, teamwork, culture and climate, conflict resolution, sustainability and professionalism, among other topics. The course includes assigned media, class discussion, special guests (executives in various relevant domains), case studies, role plays, experiential opportunities, one:one's and reflective journaling.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have substantive leadership experience, an understanding of relevant facets of human development, as well as an understanding of organizational behavior and notably character development.

It is expected that the Executive Fellow will embody all of the values and attributes on which the Center is founded and which we endeavor to imbue in our students. As such, excellent interpersonal skills, understanding of group dynamics, facility working across identities and cultures, adhering to clear and measurable outcomes, and clear energy and enthusiasm for our students is paramount. Outstanding presentation and writing skills are a must, as are the analytical ability to assess students' areas for growth and a plan to coach them through that development will be keys to success.

Academic background will minimally include a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and ideally graduate study at the master's or doctoral level.
