Job Summary

The National Partner Manager is responsible for leading, developing, implementing, and evolving distribution relationship management work with our largest, high-impact and unique agency structures to support the company's standard lines operations. The role provides direct partner management at the corporate, regional and local levels of a defined group of National Partners, business development support, ongoing communication, market insight, and problem solving. Ensures optimal alignment between the various business segments' plans and strategies to maximize profitable growth opportunities across these partners.

The focus of this role is to position the company's Standard Lines Business Segments and Enabling Units for success across this important segment of agency partners. In addition to relationship management, the role is responsible for supporting governance to effectively manage our distribution partners. The role is focused on agency management for specified national partners including, networks, aggregators, large banks, and private equity relationships. This role provides input and direction for various parts of the Distribution Management team and provides ongoing collaboration and support for a variety of team members across our business and enabling segments.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic partnership management including developing, leading and evolving the relationships with an assigned group of our largest agency partners.
  • Creates, builds and nurtures effective relationships across various levels of the group of assigned firms.
  • Develops strategies and completes annual planning across an assigned group of partners ensuring alignment with the company's goals and strategies and optimizing our relationships with these firms.
  • Effectively communicates and collaborates across all levels in the assigned firms and within the company to assure collaboration and alignment across all initiatives.
  • Utilizes sound negotiation and sales techniques to effectively manage various aspects of the relationship including production, compensation and potential opportunities for alignment.
  • Manages performance and planning on a regular basis across the assigned partners.
  • Coordinates and manages the governance related to effective management of these agencies.
  • Collaborates with internal business partners, as needed, to support competitive business strategies.
  • Collaborates with peers and other departments to make decisions that are in the best interest of the company.
  • Maintains an understanding of the P&C marketplace and an understanding of the trends impacting P&C distribution and communicates information internally with team and segments.
  • Ensures proper governance and compliance is in place in regard to company policies and distribution management approach.
  • Takes the accountability for prudent management of department expenses.
  • Establishes department budget in accordance with corporate guidelines; manages the department expenses throughout the year and provides quarterly forecasts and variance explanations as needed.
  • Can provide strategic insight and connect areas of opportunities in our distribution partners with the company's plans and strategies.
  • Expected to drive/travel up to 50% of working time to perform essential functions.
  • This may involve traveling on short notice or other daily driving duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Sales, Distribution Management, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Sales or a related field and/or commensurate work experience.
  • Preferred experience in retail agency, retail broker or wholesale brokerage.
  • Valid driver's license and a driving record that conforms to company standards.
