Children's Hospital Colorado (CHCO) is seeking a Learning Experience Designer with 3+ years' experience. This individual will design and develop online content with a focus on innovative, fresh, and engaging user experiences while supporting hospital-required education requirements. This position is responsible for standard level work designing multimedia courses, web-based training programs and online learning modules for all levels of end-users. Works with customers and trainers to identify training needs and translate identified needs into curriculum design.

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm, work hours may vary based on the needs of the department.
*While this position is considered hybrid, it does have onsite expectations (at least two days/week), which requires you to live in the state of Colorado.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Designs and creates training programs, training courses workshops, multimedia courses, computer based training (CBT), web-based training programs, online learning modules, and on-line help for all levels of end-users and IT professionals. Develops course schedules and writes and adapts training materials.
- Participates in collaborating with management and end users to conduct needs assessment and identify training needs.
- Gathers information about needs, objectives, functions, features, and requirements.
- Translates technical terminology into audience appropriate language. Reviews, proofreads and edits complex or technical writing of others. Develops documentation for custom applications and packaged applications utilizing a variety of mediums.
- Publishes and manages electronic content including online materials and assessments. Creates and maintains all print, SAT and instructional material. Develops and manages materials and versioning.
- Collects and compiles assessment data to measure training effectiveness and identifies areas for improvement.
- Manages applicable software licenses and renewals.
- Supports end-users and provides tier 2 support for supported systems.
- Establishes ongoing relationships with assigned user groups.
Additional Duties May Include:
- Exploring and piloting training approaches which provide responsive, relevant, and effective user experiences
- Enhancing learner experiences though tools, design, video, graphics, and interactions
- Working with subject matter experts to define objectives and refine course content
- Gathering material to create online content based on information from existing sources, regulatory requirements, organization-identified needs, subject matter experts, previous training material, etc.
- Composing/editing written content to ensure clarity and consistency throughout deliverables
- Assessing learner comprehension
- Providing guidance on best eLearning principles and methodologies
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION - Bachelor's degree is required.
EXPERIENCE - Minimum of three (3) years of related experience is required.
EQUIVALENCY - Combination of post-high school education, job related certification and/or related experience equivalent to seven (7) years may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.
The ideal candidate has:
- Proven experience building engaging online and experiential learning
- Understanding of advanced design/development techniques and tools of adult learning theory (e.g. ADDIE, Bloom's Taxonomy)
- Experience using Articulate course development software (Rise, Storyline)
- Strong background with conceptualization, design, and production of online training (includes video, graphics, animation, photography, and other tools)
- Ability to shift between working autonomously with limited supervision or direction, and collaborating/partnering with other team members in a more limited role
- Self-directed interest in emerging technologies and new ideas in instructional design
- Excellent communication skills
- Project management experience
- Ability to meet deadlines for training launches
- Video production experience is a plus
Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $71,040.18 to $106,560.27
