Description

  • Inspects, repairs, installs, and maintains electrical systems, machinery, and equipment using a variety of tools and equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Ensures required safety codes are properly inspected. Proactively resolves safety issues that may develop.
  • Provides daily updates to the Facilities Manager, on the status of projects, and condition of equipment.
  • Maintains cooperative electrical systems equipment, solar arrays, generators, and transfer systems and performs regularly scheduled maintenance.
  • Assists in the development of preventive maintenance schedules and recordkeeping .
  • Maintains prescribed inventory levels of maintenance supplies and informs the Facilities Manager, of possible changes. May also purchase materials and supplies.
  • The ability to handle necessary stress and work well with others are essential functions of this position.
  • Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.
  • Due to our obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to our customers, the ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance and the ability to work outside your regularly scheduled office hours when necessary is an essential function of the job.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED plus specialized training, plus 6 years related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Arkansas Journeyman's Electrician License

Valid Drivers' License

PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Master Electrician

While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions, risk of electrical shock; occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Highly repetitive, moderately physical. Highly repetitive type of work which requires somewhat diversified physical demands of the employee.

While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear; occasionally required to sit, taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and distance vision.
