Idaho National Laboratory is hiring an Environment, Safety & Health (ES&H) Manager to work in our Environment, Safety, Health and Quality department. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Specific Manufacturing Capability facility (SMC) with every Friday off.

Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking an experienced and motivated ES&H Manager for the Specific Manufacturing Capability (SMC) facility. The ES&H Manager will lead and manage the ES&H activities of the deployed staff within the directorate, further developing a high-functioning, multidisciplinary team. The role requires conducting employee performance appraisals and working independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:



  • Manage the deployed ES&H Staff assigned to SMC.
  • Ensure high quality ES&H support is provided to enable the successful completion of the SMC mission and objectives.
  • Serve as a single ES&H point of contact to the Mission/Line Director.
  • Represent ES&H in the Mission/Line senior management meetings.
  • Report directly to the INL OS&H Mission Support Manager.
  • Coordinate and convey necessary resources (budget, manpower, expertise, equipment) to execute ES&H processes requested by the Mission/Line.
  • Develop and maintain positive collaborative relationships with other senior organizational managers at SMC and other INL ES&H/OS&H Managers.
  • Provide feedback to line management and INL ES&H Management on issues, concerns, accomplishments, and performance indicators.
    Manage an organizational budget.
  • Implement company, corporation, and customer ES&H requirements, addressing and resolving OS&H functional and technical issues.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree & 5 years' relevant experience, or Advanced degree & 2 years' relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years leadership or management experience.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.


Desired Education, Skills and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree & 10 years' experience, or Advanced degree & 8 years' experience
  • Degree in a Safety and Health related field (Industrial Hygiene, Industrial Safety, Fire Protection) from an accredited ABET university or college.
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • PE Fire Protection Engineering Certification
  • Certified Fire Protections Specialist (CFPS)


Physical Requirements:



  • While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, and work in an office and field/laboratory environment. The job requires hand/finger dexterity to keyboard or type, handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires the operation of job-related equipment and driving a vehicle. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with the public is required. Job Information:



  • The target pay range for this position is ($154,733 - $231,971) annually. The full pay range is ($105,516 - $269,052). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
  • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
