Job Summary

Assumes a pivotal role in ensuring precise financial reporting through the adept management of accruals, reconciliation of accounts, and meticulous maintenance of financial records. Aims to optimize profitability by scrutinizing trade accruals, payments and deductions associated with trade accrual programs. Adheres to established accounting guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

* Scrutinizes trade contracts within the Trade System to ensure accurate accruals to the general ledger.

* Evaluates auto payment and on-demand payments for proper program set-up, supporting documentation and authorizations prior to disbursing payments.

* Examines deductions for correct program setup, validates supporting documentation including use of customer portals prior to claim creation.

* Reviews and evaluates customer deductions and post-audits for accuracy or initiates repayment processes.

* Collaborates cross-functionally (i.e., Brokers, Business Development, Sales, Customer Service, etc.) to support and enhance financial performance and reporting accuracy.

* Utilizes good customer knowledge by providing detailed customer-specific ad-hoc analyses resulting in specialized reporting for sales and customers.

* Provides support for audits (i.e., Collateral, KPMG, and Seaboard).

* Utilizes relevant software and tools to be the data keeper of financial data.

* Executes all accounting activities in an acceptable manner according to accounting practices and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications (Educations & Experience)

* High School diploma, GED or equivalent

* 1+ years of relevant experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Ability to learn relevant accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards

* Solid written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

* Firm organizational, time-management, and multi-tasking skills

* Proficient in Microsoft Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and some experience in accounting software (QuickBooks, M-Tech, SAP, or similar)

* Detailed-oriented with a high level of accuracy and precision

* Good Customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information

* Sound critical thinking, data review, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field

* Some direct accrual-focused experience

* Experience with trade management or deal management software solutions such as Blacksmith, Vistex, Demand Tech, HighRadius, or similar

Physical Demands

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, keyboard, and occasionally lift up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions & Travel Requirements

* Work may be performed remotely; in a climate-controlled office environment; or a combination of the two. For remote work, the employee must have a dedicated workspace to safely setup and use assigned IT equipment, preferably free from distractions. The employee is responsible for ensuring adequate internet service is available when working remotely (the recommended minimum speed is 20mb download and 5mb upload).

* The noise level of the environment is usually moderate.

* Occasional travel may be required.
