    What You'll Do:
    We are seeking a Lead Custodian to assist in supervising our custodial crew, primarily composed of individuals with disabilities. In this role, you will provide guidance and perform essential custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe environment.



    • Act as a leader among the custodial team, offering support and guidance as needed.

    • Collect recycling bins from around the facility and ensure they are distributed to the recycling center.

    • Use strong customer service skills to build positive relationships with coworkers, officials, and the public.

    • Coordinate work schedules to ensure timely maintenance and care of buildings and offices.

    • Assist in ordering and managing cleaning supplies and equipment.

    • Maintain storage areas and ensure cleaning materials are organized and safe for staff and the public.

    • Train, supervise, and evaluate custodial team on proper chemical and equipment usage.

    • Open and close facilities as needed.

    • Keep accurate records of work completed.

    • General Cleaning Duties:

      • Clean offices, meeting rooms, and recreational facilities.

      • Mop floors, vacuum carpets, and dust furniture.

      • Wash and disinfect restrooms, replenish supplies, and empty waste baskets.



    • Ensure entrances and exits are clean and free of debris, including snow and litter.

    • Report any damage or acts of vandalism promptly.

    • Note any equipment repairs needed and maintain adequate supplies of cleaning materials.


    What You'll Need:



    • Minimum of 1 year Custodial or Janitorial experience.

    • Familiarity with specialized cleaning techniques, such as floor care, carpet cleaning, and high-touch area sanitization.

    • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, supplies, and proper equipment handling.

    • Basic knowledge of safety regulations, including OSHA standards for cleaning and hazardous materials.

    • Must have a valid driver's license


    Preferred Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities:



    • Minimum of 1-year janitorial team lead or supervisory experience.

    • Minor maintenance or repair skills are a plus.

    • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

    • Good communication and customer service abilities.

    • Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.

    Physical & Environmental Demands:



    • Frequent standing, walking, and bending throughout the shift.

    • Lifting and carrying objects up to 50 lbs (e.g., trash bags, equipment, supply boxes).

    • Pushing/pulling heavy carts, floor buffers, and vacuum cleaners.

    • Repetitive motions such as mopping, scrubbing, and wiping.

    • Climbing ladders or stairs to clean high surfaces or change light fixtures.

    • Kneeling or crouching to clean low or hard-to-reach areas.

    • Manual dexterity for handling tools, keys, and small maintenance tasks.

    • Visual acuity to inspect cleanliness and detect maintenance issues.

    • Occasional use of power tools or machinery for floor care or minor repairs.

    • Exposure to cleaning chemicals (with proper PPE and ventilation).

    • Working in varied temperatures, including unheated or non-air-conditioned areas.

    • Noise exposure from vacuums, buffers, and other equipment.

    • Wet or slippery floors, requiring caution and proper footwear.

    • Dust, odors, and biohazards, especially in restrooms or medical facilities.

    • Outdoor work in all weather conditions (e.g., snow removal, sweeping walkways).

    • Working alone or in isolated areas, sometimes during off-hours.

    • Emergency response readiness, such as cleaning spills or addressing hazards quickly.
