Genesis10 is currently seeking an DevOps Engineer with our client in the financial industry located in Plano, TX. This is a 12+ month contract position. Responsibilities:
- Work with a project team to deliver all the infrastructure and its supporting elements in a timely and efficient manner to ensure the best project outcomes
- Collaborate with a team of professionals, but also work independently with minimal supervision
- Focus area would involve automation and utilities development to enhance production stability, integrating observability layers for better monitoring of Production and lower lane systems
- Contribute to the creation of innovative software solutions that drive our business forward
- Observe and support application components and related infrastructure, acts as the first point of contact to troubleshot, and responds to alerts regarding potential production issues
- Interpret and monitor dashboards, tools, and report to proactively identify and address potential issues prior to production impact, escalating issues to senior team members or subject matter experts as needed
- Respond to alerts regarding potential production incidents
- Implement, monitor, and improve DevOps processes, including CI/CD pipelines and streamline software delivery
- Administer Linux servers for hosting applications, ensuring system security, performance, and reliability
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to align technical solutions with technical needs
- Troubleshoot complex technical challenges, ensuring system stability, performance, and scalability
- Develop dashboards with Grafana to monitor real time logs, server health check etc.
- Perform spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
- Troubleshoot and analyze issues with failed deployments
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Proficiency in languages like Bash scripting and Python
- Experience with automation tools and CI/CD pipelines
- Unix background with experience of supporting containerized applications (Podman, Docker, Openshift, or Kubernetes.)
- Understanding of storage and data replication platforms: CEPH, Ozone, HDFS
- Strong understanding of Unix/Linux principles and security
- Drive data visualization and analytics initiatives using Tableau, Grafana and Apache superset
- DevOps practices
- In-depth knowledge of relational databases Postgres
- Experience with Hadoop
- Strong technical knowledge: Unix/Linux; Database (Sybase/SQL/Oracle), Java, Python, Perl, Shell scripting, Infrastructure
- Experience in Monitoring Alerting, and Job Scheduling Systems
- Comfortable with frequent, incremental code testing and deployment
- Strong grasp of automation / DevOps tools Ansible, Jenkins, SVN, Bitbucket
- Experience working on Big Data Technologies
- Cloudera Admin / Dev Certification
- Certification in Cloud, Docker-Container, Openshift Technologies
Desired skills:
- Work experience on UNIX Application Environments: Redis, Containers, Postgres, and Python web app
- Track record of maintaining large scale Python based systems
- Knowledge on Teradata
- Experience in developing or customizing Tableau reports
Pay range:
$48.85 - $56.85
