We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee and manage our fleet maintenance team and operations. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective maintenance of repair of fleet equipment, maximizing their availability and reliability. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards. The person in this role will report to the Director of Fleet Operations and will work with them and other managers within transportation to develop and oversee the implementation of the fleet maintenance strategy that complements the overall strategic operating and growth plans. Responsibilities: * Develop and implement a comprehensive fleet maintenance program to ensure optimal performance and longevity of our equipment. * Manage and lead a team of fleet maintenance specialists, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations. * Oversee the day-to-day operations of the fleet maintenance department, including scheduling and prioritizing maintenance and repair tasks. * Develop and implement preventative maintenance program to minimize breakdowns and maximize fleet availability. * Integral member of the leadership team to collaborate with operational and functional leadership regarding fleet maintenance policies and practices. * Build and maintain relationships with outside vendors to manage/negotiate competitive pricing for all reconditioning and maintenance needs of a fleet. * Financial responsibility to balance expense minimization with high standard of quality control. * Monitor and maintain status of all equipment, utilizing maintenance support software while creating parameters & recommendations for returning or disposing of assets. * Establish KPIs and conduct analysis of repair cost on all fleet equipment. * Engage with business leaders and develop SOPs for processes or systems that require development, revision, or continuous improvement. * Identify, lead, or participate in project work as required. Desired skills & experience: * Ability to manage key profit and loss line items critical to team initiatives. * Proven experience in fleet maintenance, repair, or related field. * Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems. * Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs and scheduling. * Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team. * Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize fleet maintenance operations. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders. * Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to fleet maintenance. * Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and work outside regular business hours when required. * Preferred experience and knowledge of UFP's organization, culture, and product lines Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree (preferred); add technical certifications or vocational training in repair (preferred) * 5+ years maintenance operations experience Note: Some travel required This job description is a general description and may be subject to modifications or additions based on the specific requirements of the organization.
