BEAUTY EDITORIAL & EVENTS SPECIALIST

Beauty events (including spas) are a major, untapped resource to add animation and eventing to stores, with a huge potential to deliver substantial volume. The beauty specialist will be dedicated to streamline, support, negotiate and maximize event opportunities with beauty and fragrance vendors in an organized fashion on a regular, ongoing basis. In addition, the role will involve curating beauty-focused editorial content, conducting trend research, and supporting the development of email campaigns, social media submissions, and gift shop offerings, ensuring all beauty-related initiatives align with brand strategy. This position combines event management and editorial expertise to elevate the overall beauty experience both in-store and digitally.

Overview:

Beauty events and activations are the heartbeat of XX with huge momentum and growing demand from both internal stores and external clients and vendors. The Beauty Specialist will support the Director of Special Events and the Center Core Fashion Director to drive and organize impactful events and activations centrally to ultimately flow through the stores organization. This role will support the central event strategy and will also help to elevate and expand local events to flagship, hub, and community store formats. The ideal candidate will be passionate about beauty trends, innovative products, and digital marketing. This role requires expertise in curating compelling beauty content, conducting trend research, and engaging with beauty brands. You will be responsible for curating beauty-focused emails, managing gift shop offerings, overseeing social media submissions, and researching new beauty brands and trends in the industry. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to shaping our editorial voice and beauty-related initiatives.

Essential Functions



  • Event business administration support, specifically including:

    • Vendor event pitch deck creation and follow up to help raise participation, funding and engagement from key brands.
    • Event marketing support (fill out brief templates, scheduling, coordinating cross functional teams, reviewing conceptshare edits, sharing out to internal teams, vendor approvals).
    • Organize and maintain central event calendars and masterlists for key stakeholders.
    • Create internal event communication templates, evites and handout templates, recap templates.
    • Regularly maintain event recaps, best practices, and photo library.
    • Support local event teams by working with merchant teams to help pull sales figures for major national events.
    • Central budget support/recapping/ROI.

  • Editorial and marketing support, specifically including:

    • Develop and curate beauty-focused email campaigns for our audience, ensuring compelling subject lines, engaging content, and strategic product placements.
    • Work closely with the buying and marketing teams to align email campaigns with ongoing initiatives, sales, or brand activations.
    • Analyze email performance and adjust strategies to maximize engagement and conversion rates.
    • Curate product offerings for beauty gift shops and total store gift shops digitally and in-store ensuring a mix of seasonal, trending, and evergreen beauty items.
    • Collaborate with the social media team to submit and manage beauty-related content on various social platforms, ensuring timely posting and content alignment with trends.
    • Conduct thorough research to identify emerging beauty brands and trends, staying ahead of industry developments.
    • Curate reports on market trends, competitor analysis, and consumer behavior in the beauty space.
    • Provide actionable insights to the buying, creative and marketing teams to inform decision-making.



Qualifications:



  • 3+ years direct experience.
  • Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, exemplary organization, attention to detail, and effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner.
  • Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on event calendar and Company needs.


Physical Requirements:



  • Hybrid work model that includes in-office and in-store requirements.
  • Occasional support with event execution, which requires walking, bending, reaching, hearing and talking.
  • Occasional prolonged periods of sitting.
  • Continuous use of computers and other office equipment.
  • Occasional lift/move up to 25 lbs.
