Description
Summary / Position Purpose: The Product Manager role will be focused on building and accelerating the development, evaluation, and execution of portfolio expansion opportunities in the Environmental Chambers category. An understanding of the product, and its importance to organic growth, as well as the ability to make sound product decisions that will impact inventory and sales is essential in this role. Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities:
- Engage with primary contract manufacturers on a regular basis to ensure timely flow of product.
- Reconciliations to ensure proper data represented in ERP for best possible customer experience.
- Compile monthly metrics for executive management.
- Oversee incoming service and support inquiries to determine customer demand, inquiries, and areas that can be improved for customer facing documents and sales training tools.
- Review current pricing as compared to competition to ensure products are competitively marketed and margins are in line with expectations.
- Review current product offering for expansion opportunities to better satisfy customer needs and/or improve our market position through stock level adjustments, new product introductions, private labeling, or distribution opportunities.
- Maintain master product data in ERP to improve clarity and quality of metadata.
- Work with marketing to maintain product content on website, run campaigns to drive product demand, and better define and drive messaging relating to our competitive advantages.
- Various projects relating to growth, maintenance, improvement of product line.
- Directly and indirectly responsible for product quality
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Previous product management or related experience in Industrial or Electronics distribution a plus.
- College Degree preferred or minimum 2 years of product management.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
- Ability to learn product offering and how it relates to customers and ultimately growth.
- Strong Analytical skills.
- Strong Excel skills that allow analyzing large data sets.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Teams, Power Point).
- Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Comfortable identifying, managing, and escalating risks and issues as needed.
- Strong desire to learn and grow.
- Communication and team working skills.
- Exceptional follow-through and initiative.
- Ability to work with aggressive timelines and deliver.
- Experience thriving in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
