Annual salary: $80,000 - $90,000
EHS Coordinator ensures a safe and healthy environment for our employees and contractors during the redevelopment project, minimizes the environmental impact associated with the redevelopment efforts and effectively manage any historical pollution, and protects Alstom assets throughout the redevelopment process.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support Site EHS Leadership
* Partner with the Site EHS Manager to drive EHS initiatives aligned with redevelopment goals.
* Collaborate with project planners, safety managers, and contractors to embed EHS considerations into all redevelopment activities.
* Provide proactive, on-site EHS guidance to prevent injuries, equipment damage, fires, and environmental incidents.
Conduct Risk Assessments & Hazard Mitigation
* Perform detailed EHS risk assessments specific to redevelopment tasks.
* Identify and mitigate potential hazards before work begins.
* Foster a culture of proactive safety and immediate response to unsafe conditions.
Develop and Maintain EHS Management Systems
* Assist in creating and implementing site-specific EHS procedures tailored to redevelopment needs.
* Ensure compliance with Alstom standards, ISO 45001, and Port Authority (PA) project requirements.
* Deploy Alstom EHS tools such as AZDP to support redevelopment safety.
Ensure Regulatory and Corporate Compliance
* Monitor redevelopment activities for compliance with legal and internal EHS standards.
* Conduct compliance checks to ensure alignment with Alstom and PA regulations.
Training and Awareness
* Deliver targeted EHS training to personnel involved in redevelopment.
* Promote a strong safety culture through education, communication, and recognition of safe practices.
Emergency Preparedness
* Support the development and testing of emergency response plans tailored to redevelopment scenarios.
* Conduct drills to ensure readiness for fire, chemical, weather, or other emergencies.
Incident Management
* Assist in investigating incidents and near-misses related to redevelopment work.
* Ensure timely reporting and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Reporting and Documentation
* Contribute to monthly EHS reporting with a focus on redevelopment metrics.
* Maintain accurate records and update the EHS Teranga system in line with project-specific requirements.
Site Inspections and Audits
* Conduct regular inspections and audits of redevelopment zones.
* Identify discrepancies and ensure timely corrective actions.
Continuous Improvement
* Collaborate with internal teams to identify and implement EHS improvements across redevelopment projects.
* Share lessons learned and contribute to best practices for future redevelopment efforts.
Educational Requirements:
- University Engineer or Business Degree
- Health & Safety Qualification recognized by the enforcing authorities in the country of operation (when required).
Desirable:
Degree level Environmental Qualification to Diploma or Degree level
Required Experience:
- Professional experience 1 year (can be adjusted depending on the size of the Site).
- Experience of almost 1 year in Environment, Health & Safety
- Highly recommended experience for manufacturing sites or for Regional Centers
- Good knowledge and understanding of OHSAS 18001,ISO45001
- Deep knowledge of local legal EHS requirements.
- OSHA 30-hour for Construction and General Industry
Desirable:
- Safety Experience is a plus
- NYC DOB 62-hour SST certification
- Knowledge of Safety Auditing and Inspections
- Ability to review and decipher E-Builder
- Can differentiate blueprints and MEP schematics

Physical Requirements:
