The Advanced Electrified Powertrain Controls Engineer will work within a team of Powertrain controls, calibrations and integration engineers to develop electrified powertrain systems for current and next-generation electrified powertrains for Chrysler and FIAT vehicles. The overall goal for the team is to develop a complete electrified powertrain that meets the vehicle functional requirements for fuel economy, emissions, drivability, and diagnostics.

The ideal candidate, who must be a strong team player and willing to work in a fast paced environment, will be mainly involved in developing modeling and control strategies related to the overall thermal system of the vehicle, including the electrified power train and the vehicle interior. The latter modeling and control strategies will also interact with adjacent electrified power train subsystems such as high voltage battery management, electric range estimation and optimization, high voltage battery charging and charging optimization, and low voltage battery management.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering or related degree field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Demonstrated technical problem solving
  • Strong overall knowledge of vehicle and powertrain thermal systems
  • Experience with modeling, simulation, identification, control, development, testing, calibration and/or validation
  • Outstanding interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • AECD expertise

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree and/or PhD in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering or related degree field
  • Specialization in physic-based modeling and/or control disciplines with vehicle application
  • Embedded software experience
  • Knowledge of powertrain control system architecture/best practices.
  • Demonstrated application of technical excellence
  • Experience with model-based development tools such as MATLAB/SIMULINK
  • Experience with data acquisition and analysis tools such as ETAS-INCA
  • Experience with 0-D and 1-D physical modeling tools such as GT Power and FloMaster
