Quality Control Technician (Mansfield, MA)

As a Quality Control Technician 2, you'll play a key role in ensuring components meet rigorous standards that support safe and effective patient outcomes. This role offers hands-on experience with advanced inspection tools, clear growth opportunities, and the chance to make a meaningful impact in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, technical aptitude, and the ability to work in a regulated environment to support the overall quality and safety of Smith + Nephew medical devices.

2nd shift support preferred, 3pm-11pm Monday- Friday flexibility as needed

What will you be doing?

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, in-process products, and finished goods using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

• Review and interpret engineering drawings, inspection procedures, and technical specifications.

• Use measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators, etc.) to verify dimensional conformance.

• Document inspection results and test data accurately and promptly in inspection records and digital applications.

• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to address quality issues and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

• Maintain inspection records and ensure proper documentation in compliance with FDA regulations and ISO 13485 standards.

• Participate in process improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of continuous quality.

What will you need to be successful?

• Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree or technical certification preferred.

• Experience:

  • 2-4 years of experience in a quality inspection in a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably medical device

• Basic understanding of inspection and calibration principles and familiarity with precision measuring instruments.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and calibration standards.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.

• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods during inspection and calibration activities.
