Printpack Bloomington is seeking an experience maintenance technician. This position is responsible for maintaining production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. This position is for a 12 hour night shift, 7PM-7AM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Personally operate and maintain equipment in a safe and orderly manner
  • Troubleshoot mechanical systems and identify and repair mechanical malfunctions
  • Conduct LockOut/TagOut procedures, preventive maintenance tasks as assigned
  • Perform building and grounds maintenance as assigned
  • Read electrical, hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic schematics and identify operation of system
  • Install, operate and maintain electrical and electronic equipment and systems
  • Inspect and test electronic equipment using multi-meters, ammeters
  • Drive results in the key metrics of safety, waste, productivity and quality
  • Communicate actions taken to repair the machine to operator and/or manager
  • Communicate effectively with team members, corporate engineering, vendors, and internal customers
  • Demonstrate knowledge of plant and process safety rules, safe operating methods, and good housekeeping standards

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Familiar with basic machining equipment
  • Minimum of 2 year technical or trade school training

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Minimum 3 years industrial maintenance experience, with strong mechanical and pneumatic experience
  • Must be multi skilled in all areas of industrial maintenance
  • Able to use precision measuring equipment such as calipers
  • Able to follow mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic layouts
  • Able to weld effectively and perform basic metal fab projects
  • Able to read electrical schematics
  • Able to engage in a team working collaboratively as well as make repairs independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Metalworking skills are a plus
  • HVAC experience a plus
  • Prefer to have strong electrical skills including experience with PLCs and drives, troubleshooting control circuits

Physical Demands:

  • Lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Required to wear hearing protection, safety glasses, uniform, hairnet, gloves, and steel-toed shoes.
  • Required to lift, bend, crouch, reach, twist, and crawl. Required to work in high places.
  • Required to ascend and descend ladders safely.
  • Safely operate mobile equipment.
  • Stand or walk for extended periods of time.
