We are seeking a future team member for the role of Director, Issue Management that will lead the Enterprise BNY Issue Management Program. This role is located in New York City office with 4 days per week on-site required. In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
- Lead the framework, policy and drive requirements related to end-to-end issue management, including robust root cause analysis, remediation, and management reporting of identified issues
- Collaborate with a global Business & Risk Controls team and other key stakeholders in support of the enhancement and maintenance of an enterprise issue management program.
- Support initiatives to improve the ongoing operation of the program including: policies, standards and execution related to issue identification, root cause analysis/evaluation, remediation, closure, monitoring, reporting, and escalation to promote comprehensive, consistent, accurate, and timely issue resolution.
- Develop relationships with counterparts within the team and across business and functional units.
- Lead workstreams and reviews, providing direction to a variety of stakeholders to produce a high quality of work product.
- Provide guidance to front line units across assigned projects and a range of business and functional areas.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- Bachelor's degree with a focus in business, finance, or related discipline are preferred. Relevant industry qualifications are an advantage.
- The candidate must have a minimum of 12 to 15 years' experience in risk management for a financial institution.
- Prior operational risk experience (first of second line of defense), Issue Management experience strongly preferred.
- Global program management experience required.
- Prior experience managing a global team of people to ensure program milestones are managed and met under tight deadlines and competing priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues across all lines of defense.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with colleagues and present to internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to learn and assimilate new information quickly.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $150,000 and $250,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
