Overview
Job Purpose The primary focus of this position is to manage a group of index operations analysts and perform data collection, processing, cleansing, and governance of all data inputs for our index franchise. The Director must be comfortable working individually and as a team lead, and be very comfortable with process change management. The Director will collect, interpret, and manage a variety of data, processes and sources related to the production of multi-asset indices, while focusing on refining quality, increasing efficiency, improving standardization, and mitigating business risks. This person will be proactive and comfortable communicating with all levels of personnel and clients around the globe. This person will also need to be an effective leader, manager, and mentor, capable of building and educating a team. Responsibilities
- Design and implement internal controls for the management of raw input data and derived data
- Design and implement the quality control framework for Fixed Income index data
- Gather, organize, format and scrub large amounts of data for inclusion in the index databases
- Make scheduled daily and monthly deliveries of data files to various in-house sources.
- Support members of the index team in ensuring the quality and timeliness of data
- Work with other teams within ICE Data Services (e.g. RDO, IDA, and IDD) in ensuring the quality and timeliness of data used in the indices
- Identify manual tasks that could be automated or outsourced based on risk and benefit
- Build and maintain a training program for incoming and existing data analysts
- Make recommendations regarding new tools, reports or systems that improve workflow and production efficiency
Knowledge and Experience
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in Math, Finance, Economics or Computer Science
- Strong analytical and judgment skills with the ability to comprehend complex materials.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access)
- Solid Python coding foundation with SQL familiarity
- Ability to work under stringent time constraints, multi-task and prioritize workload
- Client Service orientation a must
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential
- Good organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Ability to work as a part of a team and independently
- Experienced in making quick and sound decisions
- Leadership experience, with ability to be decisive in moving tasks forward to completion
Preferred Knowledge and Experience
- Data Science skills/training a significant plus
- Knowledge of and/or experience with equity and fixed income securities
- Experience leading a data quality team, preferably related to indices or portfolio analytics
- Familiarity with the concepts of relational databases, i.e. creating tables and queries
New York Base Salary Range
The expected base salary for this role, if located in New York, is between $140,000 - 270,000 USD. The base salary range does not include Intercontinental Exchange's incentive compensation. While we provide this range as general guidance, at ICE we compensate employees based on the skillset and experience of the individual.
