Milton Hershey School (MHS) is seeking a Home Life Administrator (HLA) to provide leadership and support to houseparents (student caregivers) while ensuring safe and effective residential operations that promote student success.

Position Details



  • Location: On-site in Hershey, PA
  • Compensation: $80,000 - $108,000 (based on experience) + benefits
  • Residency Requirement: Must live on campus in a school-provided home due to evening, weekend, and on-call responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities



  • Leadership & Supervision: Oversee at least 12 student homes, building relationships with & providing direction to staff and students through frequent visits.
  • Coaching & Development: Provide regular guidance, feedback, and formal performance reviews to support staff growth.
  • Strategic Thinking: Drive continuous improvement, enhance student outcomes, and refine residential programming.
  • Courageous Communication: Address challenges and collaborate with staff, students, families, and administrators to problem-solve effectively.
  • Safety & Security: Ensure a safe and structured campus and residential environment.
  • Program & Policy Support: Implement MHS's strategic plans and residential policies to foster student success.
  • Quality Programming: Develop and oversee engaging, impactful programs.
  • Administrative Management: Handle budgeting, scheduling, and operational efficiency.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in a houseparent or educational residential role.
  • Leadership & Supervision: Proven experience leading adults, driving change, and influencing positive outcomes.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship building skills and crisis intervention abilities.
  • Administrative Competence: Demonstrated computer proficiency and organizational skills.
  • Certifications: Valid driver's license required; CPR & First Aid certifications preferred.
  • Language Skills: Spanish fluency is a plus.
  • Character & Integrity: Must uphold a high degree of integrity, serving as a role model for MHS students.
