The Opportunity

This position applies intensive and diversified knowledge of design principles, practices and implementation in complex systems and assignments. General responsibilities include design concept generation, participating in design reviews, development and testing to assess performance against design specification; reliability testing, and assessment of system interactions. Makes independent decisions. Assist in the development of manufacturing processes and troubleshooting issues to determine root cause and possible engineering solutions.

  • Follow and consistently apply company policies, standard practices, and quality procedures.

  • Take on defined projects with clear scope and goals under the direction of senior staff or project leads.

  • Participate in the development of new components, systems, or processes while addressing technical challenges.

  • Create innovative, potentially patentable system components or processes.

  • Plan and execute experiments, contributing to experimental designs and analyzing data for process improvements.

  • Manage documentation and configuration records to ensure alignment with quality systems and regulatory requirements.

  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, facilitating decisions, and tracking actions for effective project execution.

  • Proactively identify and address risks while ensuring traceability and alignment of requirements across system teams.

  • Support design change activities for on-market products while working toward effective, field-ready solutions.

  • Prepare and deliver impactful presentations of project results to internal and external teams.

Who you are:

  • Prior experience with in vitro diagnostics (IVD) or medical device instrumentation strongly desired.

  • Familiarity with cross-functional design elements including electrical, mechanical, fluidics, and software subsystems.

  • Experience with system verification and validation activities for complex electromechanical instruments.

  • Working knowledge of design control, configuration management, and risk management processes in regulated environments.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Tucson, AZ is $72,800 - $135,200. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
