Job Description:
The School District of Milton is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll Specialist to join the Business
Services Department located at the District Office. Reporting directly to the Payroll Supervisor, this position plays a vital
role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mathematics
or accounting and a thorough understanding of payroll procedures, labor laws, and regulations. Previous experience as an
administrative assistant or bookkeeper is highly valued, as the role also supports various functions within the business
office. The successful candidate will possess strong technology skills and the ability to manage complex tasks or projects with
minimal supervision, all while maintaining strict confidentiality. Exceptional organizational and communication skills
are essential, as are the abilities to collaborate effectively with others, manage competing priorities, meet tight deadlines,
and maintain accurate records. Attention to detail and strong multitasking capabilities are critical for success in this role.
Additionally, the Payroll Specialist will assist with substitute coordination as needed, based on the district's staffing
needs. This is a full-time, year-round position scheduled for eight hours per day, 260 days per year. The anticipated start date is
on or before August 4, 2025. Compensation will be based on the candidate's education and related work experience and
includes a comprehensive benefits package offered by the School District of Milton. Qualifications:
Preferred candidates will have a minimum of a two-year degree in accounting and demonstrated experience in payroll
and/or accounting. An associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting or business is strongly preferred. The ideal
applicant will be self-motivated, positive, and detail-oriented, with the ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
Proficiency in computer applications is required, and familiarity with Skyward is strongly preferred. To Apply:
