Dance Instructors of Ballet, Pointe, and Modern

The University of Iowa Youth Ballet and Community Dance Schoolis a non-profit outreach organization within the Department of Dance. As a higher education outreach program dedicated to community building, we are devoted to instructing both classical and contemporary dance forms. Our mission is to inspire a passion for movement practice, kindle curiosity about dance, and support the professional development of educators to contribute to the field. We offer classes for students aged 2-18 and adults of all ages, including eight levels of classical ballet.

We arelookingto hire a Ballet and Pointe Instructor and a Modern Instructor. The ideal candidate must have experience teaching ballet and pointeand/or modern danceand be available to teach classes one or more weeknights after 5:00 PM (class times vary by day) and/or Saturdays,starting in mid-August 2025.

Position Details:

• Hours:2.5-5hours perweek, depending on availability
• Pay:$16-25 per hour, based on experience
• Employment Type:Employeeof the University of Iowa (includes tax advantages over independent contractor)
