Senior Full Stack Developer, RBC Capital Markets, LLC, New York, NY:

Engage in full Software Development Lifecycle (SLDC) including design, development, coding, code reviews, testing and deployment. Develop and maintain backend services and interfaces ensuring scalability and performance. Implement solutions to integrate existing data and infrastructure services. Drive strategic initiatives for the team and scale its infrastructure footprint. Analyze business requirements and translate it to technical and practical specifications. Collaborate with global teams across various functions: business stakeholders, engineers, program management, project management, run-the-bank - to deliver high-quality solutions. Strive for continuous improvement in code quality and development practices. Contribute to and lead company-internal technical projects.

Telecommuting permitted 2 days per week.

Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week, $134,000 per year.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field and 2 years of related work experience.

Must have 2 years of experience in each of the following:

  • Programming language including Java or Python;
  • Design patterns, data structures, algorithms, threading, and concurrency;
  • SQL, messaging systems, scripting (including Bash and PowerShell)
  • Development kits such as IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse, Visual Studio Code, Maven and Gradle;
  • Performance monitoring tools such as Prometheus/Grafana, ELK, JConsole;
  • Version control systems including GitHub and Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) pipelines frameworks;
  • Containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker, Kubernetes or Helm; and
  • Software design principles and development best practices throughout SLDC.

The base salary for this job is $134,000 per year. This salary does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
