We are looking for a Digital Technology Solution Expert, Patient Benefit Risk, who is intellectually curious, self-driven, and adaptable to join us in Global Digital Technology, Patient Evidence team, based in our Raleigh, North Carolina office in the United States. This hybrid position requires a minimum of 40% on site presence with a 5-10% domestic and international travel requirement.
About the role
This global role oversees the management of Technology and Operational Support Services for the Patient Benefit Risk department. You will lead projects that integrate Digital Technology/IT Project Management, Data Science, and Patient Benefit Risk principles, serving as the IT function for business partners. As the primary information technology system owner (ITSO) for various technology systems supporting the Patient Benefit Risk department, including Veeva SafetyDocs and Veeva Signal, this role ensures continuous GxP compliance, data integrity, and cybersecurity for critical systems.
Who you'll work with
You will work with the Patient Benefit Risk department to enhance value of the technology landscape. You will also work with the Digital Technology team to define, create and manage digital technology projects (including Veeva Software), offering subject matter expertise on technology and architecture, and ensuring timely project delivery. Additionally, the role will work with quality assurance and compliance stakeholders to ensure continuous inspection readiness, driving computerized system compliance (GxP), and transforming pharmacovigilance practices with advanced digital technologies. Externally, you will work with vendors such as Veeva.
What you'll do
- Lead global IT and digital projects that support UCB's Patient Benefit Risk department
- Act as the primary IT system owner for Veeva SafetyDocs, Veeva Signal, and other critical platforms.
- Ensure continuous GxP compliance, data integrity, cybersecurity, and inspection readiness.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors (like Veeva) to design, deliver, and optimize technology solutions.
- Prototype and scale data science-based innovations to improve business processes and outcomes.
- Oversee project planning, budgeting, and resource management to ensure timely and quality delivery.
- Provide strategic and technical input while staying current with evolving technologies and global development needs.

Minimum Education, Qualifications, Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Applied Economics, Communication Management, Business Administration, Biology, or relevant STEM degree
- 2+ years of experience in managing projects within an IT/Digital Environment, with at least 5 years of total experience within an IT/Digital Environment
- Coding experience with SQL, Python or R

- Experience in life sciences industry
This positions reasonably anticipated base salary range is $104,800-$137,600. The actual salary offered will take into account related knowledge, skills, experience and location among other factors and may fall outside the expected range.
