This position is responsible for effective delivery of training programs across the organization for Risk Adjustment. Keeps abreast of various training delivery techniques, business processes, products and systems. Assists in the designing, managing, implementing and evaluating of training programs to prepare high quality and highly competent staff for meaningful contributions in the workplace. This position will work with training programs such as new employee orientation, department orientation/education, new care delivery group education and any new training initiatives. This position will also work with DataRAP management to ensure successful execution of training programs regarding Risk Adjustment.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Develops and conducts training and education programs for employees, providers, administrative departments, physician partners, and vendors as assigned
  • Participates in a team that designs, manages, and implements staff development, and competency programs incorporating coding and Risk Adjustment
  • Leverages creativity and utilizes a wide variety of methods to present education and training programs specific to DataRAP
  • Provides coaching and mentoring to learners for specific behavior and skill development utilizing effective feedback and providing recommendations to management as needed
  • Displays the ability to lead and mentor team members
  • Follows plan for professional development and actively seeks out opportunities to increase expertise in coding and Risk Adjustment education
  • Complies with approved corporate policies and procedures
  • Provides excellent customer service
  • Participates on committees, task forces, and/or work groups
  • Solid collaboration skills and alignment with DataRAP department
  • Knowledgeable of current coding guidelines and all Risk Adjustment related applications
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:



  • CPC certification or proof that certification has been obtained within nine months of hire date from the American Academy of Professional Coders
  • 4+ years of experience in a related medical field or health plan setting
  • Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 CM guidelines and coding
  • Experience providing direct training in a variety of settings, such as live classes, 1 to 1 training and via videoconferencing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated solid interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel 50-75%



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Previous coding experience
  • Experience in managed care, working with network and provider relations
  • Knowledge of Risk Adjustment and coding principles and guidelines
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with medical staff, peers, and internal company staff at all levels



Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $71,200 to $127,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
