Description

We're looking for an SEO specialist with a passion for content strategy to join our growing digital marketing team.

This individual will be responsible for optimizing high-quality, timely, and evergreen financial content for search and assisting in technical SEO improvements across our portfolio of websites.

The person in this role will collaborate closely with our writers, editors, and marketing teams to ensure our content ranks well on Google and other search platforms, engages our audience, and drives new readership to our platforms.

This position reports to the Director of SEO and works cross-functionally with SEO, marketing, and editorial teams.



Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct keyword research to identify content opportunities aligned with our content pillars and business goals.
  • Optimize on-page elements including meta titles, descriptions, H1/H2 tags, image alt text, and internal linking.
  • Assist in building and maintaining keyword/topic clusters for core editorial themes (e.g., AI stocks, retirement planning, ETFs).
  • Develop SEO content briefs and outlines using tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, MarketMuse, or SurferSEO.
  • Monitor organic traffic performance using Google Analytics and Search Console.
  • Audit and update legacy content for improved SEO performance and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with editorial teams to integrate SEO best practices into content workflows.
  • Support technical SEO tasks such as site audits, indexing issues, and schema markup.
  • Help identify link-building opportunities within our network of financial websites and affiliates.
  • Stay current on SEO trends, Google algorithm updates, and developments in financial search intent.



Requirements & Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in SEO, content marketing, or digital publishing, preferably in the finance, business, or investing verticals.
  • Basic knowledge of on-page, off-page, and technical SEO
  • Familiarity with SEO tools like Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, MarketMuse, or Screaming Frog
  • Strong interest in financial markets, investing, or business news
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Solid communication skills - able to collaborate with writers, editors, and marketing teams
  • Bonus: Experience with WordPress, HTML, or financial compliance considerations (e.g., disclosures, disclaimers)

    • Our Headquarters are located in Baltimore, MD. This role is eligible for remote work in the US with scheduled trips to the HQ office.
