Build your clean energy career on one of the largest electric vehicle teams in the country!The Clean Energy Strategy Manager for Electric Mobility (E-Mobility) is responsible for the planning, development, execution, tracking and monitoring of the strategy for the E-Mobility department's programs and services to ensure Con Edison and New York State clean transport and Electric Vehicle (EV) goals and targets are achieved.Con Edison, a multibillion-dollar energy utility, is leading the clean energy transition in New York City and Westchester County. We are investing hundreds of millions of dollars annually to support electric vehicle charging.This role in the E-Mobility Strategy and Policy section is an opportunity to demonstrate your ability to drive results, apply cross-disciplinary skills, collaborate closely with diverse teams, and directly contribute to the clean energy transition and the EV charging market.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities
  • Work at the intersection of strategy, policy, and programs to lead development of the Companys E-Mobility strategy: Plan, develop, execute, track and monitor the strategy for the E-Mobility departments programs to support achievement of Con Edison and New York State clean transport goals and targets.
  • Partner with staff across the department and work with the leadership team to align the organization around the strategy and ensure successful implementation. Work with internal stakeholders to shape, integrate, and optimize multi-year portfolio goals and develop and prioritize strategic initiatives for each calendar year. Provide problem solving and strategic support to the department and lead cross-functional teams responsible for new department initiatives.
  • Represent the E-Mobility teams interest to external stakeholders such as the New York State Department of Public Service Staff and other stakeholders.
  • Manage a team to continually analyze existing programs for improvement opportunities and new programs and services. Monitor clean transport market conditions, such as demand for EVs and EV chargers, and recommend program design changes that allow for achievement of Company quarterly and annual targets. Work with teams and other stakeholders to continuously improve clean transport portfolio reporting and forecasting processes and consider the grid impacts of electrification.
  • Monitor and ensure close integration of near-term strategy on a daily basis and as part of an overall strategic plan. Assesses department progress against targets and goals, document and monitor decisions and actions, report on progress to the departments leadership team. Identify, structure and present prioritized set of gaps, challenges and opportunities and proposed solutions.
  • Collaborate with program teams, such as the EV Make Ready Program, Managed Charging, Micro-Mobility,and Fleet Advisory teams to implement adjustments for changes to program, budgetary and regulatory needs and market changes.
  • Develop forecasting models and scenario analyses using limited or incomplete data, applying sound assumptions where necessary. Project future outcomes with minimal input, while proactively collaborating with cross-functional teams or leveraging industry research to validate assumptions.
  • Commit to the ideals of developing a proactive, customer-centric culture to foster trust and confidence among customers (both internal and external) and improve value for all our stakeholders.
  • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 Years of work experience 2 years of work experience in energy, electric vehicles, the utility industry, or other relevant experience.
Preferred Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree Degree in business, engineering, energy-related discipline, economics and 5 years business work experience in energy or electric vehicle or utility industry.
Relevant Work Experience
  • Track-record of delivering results and high performance among peers. Required
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize data into business insights and effectively communicate the information in presentation format and written deliverables including long-form text and slide decks. Required
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and work comfortably in a dynamic environment. Required
  • Demonstrated ability solve complex strategic and tactical problems. Required
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly with a high degree of curiosity. Required
  • Proven to be highly motivated with a bias for action and strong sense of ownership. Required
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Required
  • 1+ year specific experience in utility EV programs, including work with utility EV program strategy, program design, forecasting and reporting. Preferred
  • Experience leading implementation of complex projects. Preferred
  • Experience managing direct reports in a dynamic environment. Preferred
  • Experience presenting to senior executives and external stakeholders. Preferred
  • Experience and or knowledge of New York State energy policy and regulatory environment. Preferred
  • Enthusiasm to use AI tools regularly in workflow. Preferred
  • Experience working with diverse teams to alignand work with stakeholders to implement business solutions and drive results. Preferred
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to drive results by collaborating with stakeholders to build consensus. Preferred
  • Experience working in a regulated industry. Preferred
  • Organizational and prioritization skills, ability to see the big picture and stay connected to the details. Preferred
  • Ability to make decisions and confidently answer questions in real-time, under pressure. Preferred
  • Technical and/or public policy writing skills. Preferred
  • Initiative to continually refine and improve models or processes, passion to make something its best as new information comes in. Preferred
  • Experience with Power BI, Salesforce, ArcGIS, or other database data visualization tools. Preferred

  • Driver's License Required
Additional Physical Demands
  • The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
