Description
Assured Information Security is seeking a skilled Senior-Level FSR/Developer supporting our government customer between two sites: Hanover and Fort Meade, MD. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with expertise across various IT disciplines, including virtualization, operating systems, networking, automation, and security. This position requires on-call availability as needed. While the position is expected to conclude on/or around January 31, 2026, there is potential for it to transition into full-time employment. Roles & Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage virtualized environments using VMware/ESXi, with a focus on resource allocation, virtual networking (standard and distributed switches), and infrastructure optimization.
- Administer Linux systems (RHEL, Ubuntu) including patch management, disk partitioning, permissions, and repository configuration for offline maintenance.
- Manage Windows server infrastructure, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and domain controller configurations, while executing secure offline updates using WSUS or CAB files.
- Support and maintain network environments, applying foundational knowledge of Cisco IOS/NXOS, performing basic security maintenance, and ensuring robust Layer 2/3 connectivity.
- Leverage automation tools, especially Ansible, to streamline deployments and configuration management; contribute to version control practices via Git, creating merge and pull requests to support collaborative development.
- Apply DevSecOps principles to manage and deploy features securely and efficiently, integrating security into every step of the Software Development Lifecycle.
- Assist in security and compliance efforts, including running and interpreting scans using ACAS/Tenable Security Center, and addressing identified vulnerabilities.
Education & Experience:
- You have a bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology Management, Computer Engineering or a related field of study with 8 years of experience in performing IT deployments or service delivery in an end user/customer environment OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in automation, Python, and Bash, including knowledge of Ansible for deployment automation.
- Strong Git skills for version control (e.g., merge requests, pull requests, pushes), and a solid understanding of DevSecOps principles and the secure Software Development Lifecycle (SDL).
- Familiarity with Cisco IOS/NXOS for installing releases and performing security maintenance on network devices, as well as a solid understanding of TCP/IP protocols and Layer 2/3 networking concepts.
- System administration experience across Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu) and Windows environments, including offline maintenance (e.g., patching, repository/WSUS updates), managing core services (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP), and strong knowledge of permissions, disk partitioning, and domain controller operations.
- Knowledge of building, deploying, and interpreting security scans.
- Proficient in virtualization and infrastructure management using VMware/ESXi, with strong knowledge of resource allocation in vSphere and mid-level expertise in virtual networking, including standard and distributed switches.
Security Clearance: Must possess an active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Poly Travel: Up to 10% AA/Disability/Veteran US Salary Range: $160,000-$175,000. The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on several factors including location, skills, and experience.
