Machinist Apprentice

York, PA

Summary:

As a machinist apprentice you will become knowledgeable in the fundamentals of machining. Additionally you will be trained to proficiently operate CNC vertical boring mills, CNC horizontal boring mills, 5 axis milling machines, manual machines, layout components for proof of machining, inspection and gauging, as well as math for machining. This training will give you the skills necessary to manufacture components efficiently to drawing and customer specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Follow all VHY and OSHA regulations
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment
• Ask questions
• Take notes
• Pass all required book and classroom assignments
• Operate various machine tools under the guidance of skilled employees
• Perform tasks and assignments as directed by supervision

Qualifications:

• Possess a High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Ability to perform basic math
• Mechanical aptitude
• Prior machining experience is a plus
• Willingness and eager to learn
