Department Overview

The Procurement organization is the functional lead for the procurement of materials and services at Pacific Gas and Electric Company. The department collaborates with internal clients and suppliers managing more than $12 billion of annual company spend to develop mutually beneficial total value solutions for goods and services. The department provides the following services to internal clients: procurement of goods and services, strategic sourcing and cost savings, category management, supplier relationship management, execution and outreach, compliance management, ongoing procurement field support and management of the source to pay cycle.

Position Summary

The Manager, IT Procurement drives the client experience by developing and leading effective Strategic Sourcing strategies and effective Category Management and contract execution, contract and overall contract governance. This position supports the portfolio's goals through transactional awareness to identify potential cost savings, diversity, green supply chain, spend reduction, supplier consolidation, and standardization opportunities. This position identifies opportunities for efficiency within corporate and sourcing policies and processes to improve results for both Sourcing and Portfolio clients. The Manager, IT Procurement leads multiple spend categories within a portfolio. This position drives category management strategies with their team and influences key stakeholders to become trusted business advisors.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and Oakland based on business needs.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimatethe successful candidate hiredinto this rolewill beplaced towards the middle or entry pointof the range, the decisionwill be made on a case-by-casebasis related tothese factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

Reporting Relationship

The Manager, IT Procurement will report to the Senior Director, Indirect & Corporate Services Strategic Sourcing.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops strategic portfolio and category plans to generate cost savings, deliver service excellence, optimize diversity spending and total cost of ownership for key lines of business.
  • Ensures the overall governance of the contract approval process from contract creation through contract award.
  • Oversees contract spend across multiple spend categories
  • Develops short- and long-term strategies for all spend categories within portfolio
  • Leads complex cross-functional teams in the execution of strategic sourcing initiatives
  • Manages spend analysis, needs assessment, benchmarking and business case development
  • Leads development and execution of negotiation strategies
  • Monitors and maximizes customer satisfaction using standardized client service level agreements
  • Manages continuous improvement-based relationships that deliver mutually beneficial results for PG&E and its suppliers
  • Establishes service level agreements to hold suppliers accountable for performance
  • Approves purchase orders and contracts from $500,000 to $10 million
  • Directly supervises Sourcing Supervisors, Category Leaders and Sourcing Specialists.

Background Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required (one year of experience for every one year of college)
  • 8 years of total sourcing or related industry experience; some positions may require technical/category experience
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems and implementation barriers
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills

Desired

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree
  • Project Management experience, Utility industry experience
  • Demonstrated category management and procurement transformation experience
  • 2-3 years of supervisor experience
  • SAP/SRM proficiency
