ChampionX has an immediate need for an Application Specialist in our Chemical Technologies group in Midland, Texas. If you are a passionate technical professional that likes to work in an autonomous, hands-on environment, we invite you to apply.

You will be primarily responsible for working with Sales Representatives on executing service plans in strategic district accounts. This will involve the completion of agreed upon contractual services in your assigned accounts and providing customers with problem solving support. You will also assist District Sales Representatives with start-ups of both new applications in current customers, and in transitioning competitively-held accounts to ChampionX. This position will also require you to build strong relationships with your assigned customer base to generate a high level of customer satisfaction.

What Will You Do:

  • Ensure a safe work environment, promotes a safety culture and actively works to achieve goal zero.

  • Promptly report every incident, near miss, or injury to leader as soon as feasibly possible.

  • Support services include: sample testing, light maintenance, customer service, service report generation, chemical ordering, chemical inventory management, general labor activities.

  • Deliver chemical to customers as needed following DOT requirements.

  • Conduct regular inventory per the customer requirements and records in appropriate place.

  • Engage in problem-solving by performing system analysis, interpreting data and providing written recommendations to ensure customer operations are performing at optimal levels.

  • Assist Sales Reps with start-ups of new applications in both existing customer and in new accounts, site surveys, product application audits and field evaluation of new products.

  • Install, modify, maintain, and repair products or equipment that have been purchased by the organization's customers in accordance with service agreements and technical specifications.

  • Assess on-site field problems and conduct required testing equipment to return systems to use per customer specifications.

  • Ensure the accuracy of onsite SDSs and COSHH sheets relating to the chemicals in use.

  • Directly involved with special projects as assigned.

  • Conduct analysis on products around service, reliability and performance.

  • Train junior Technical Service Representatives, Application Specialists and customers site Operators.

  • Assist in the preparation of reports detailing problems and solutions to initiate necessary corrective product modification and/or recommend process changes; lean on this level to execute reporting Assume lead role in maintaining troubleshooting guides/ bulletins and distribution to departments when required.

  • Work with other district personnel toward continuous improvement of policies and procedures resulting in increased customer satisfaction.

  • Identify new product/service opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Must have a valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record

  • Must be 21 years of age or older to operate a company vehicle.

  • 2 years of successful technical service or field sales support experience

  • No immigration sponsorship offered

Physical Demands:

  • Able to lift and carry 50 pounds

  • Have the ability to bend, squat down, and reach above your head

  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 3+ years of successful technical service or field sales support experience

  • Advanced customer service skills

  • Effective time management, ability to multi-task

  • Ability to operate independently with little supervision

  • Intermediate communication and interpersonal skills

  • Advanced problem-solving skills

  • Advanced Mechanical aptitude
