Responsible for managing the implementation of construction projects in the Northeast. Involves overseeing the development and implementation of engineering plans and scope of work documents for Verizon's real estate infrastructure and legal projects. Strict financial management of associated budgets and schedules for all projects. Management of multiple engineering, architectural, construction management and general contractor vendors in accordance with current policies and practices in order to meet Verizon / Global Real Estate (GRE) goals and objectives.
Oversight of projects within the Tri State area. Leading the GRE INF Downstate NY team and delivering the annual budget. Managing multiple projects in various stages of design and construction. Hosting on site walkthroughs and construction meetings on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Overseeing, reviewing and approving detailed engineering drawings and specifications. Engineering design and evaluation of various building types; devise new approaches to resolving problems encountered. Development and management of project programs to reduce costs. Working closely and partnering with various Verizon departments including the Global Real Estate team to successfully deliver assigned projects. Ensuring all designs and plans meet program and building requirements, and are compatible with Network equipment installations and Verizon Standards. Partnering with third party vendors such as design professionals, general contractors, construction managers, expeditors, etc. including sub-contractors and sub-consultants to ensure coordination of activities with various stakeholders for timely completion of projects within an established budget. Managing the implementation of engineering, design and construction of capital improvement projects; system commissioning, decommissioning and restoration; estimating construction cost analysis, budget coordination, reporting and tracking. Ensuring compliance with all local codes, rules and regulations. Developing future year capital project plans and forecasting. Managing and overseeing programs and individual projects in the northeast. Projects include but are not limited to Facades, Roofs, and MEP upgrades. Project planning including initiation of project scope and timeline, preparing initial cost estimates, overseeing design development, procurement, permitting, equipment delivery, oversight of all construction activity and implementation of project close out. Utilizing project trackers to stay up to date on all project activities and read-out to leadership. Managing annual budget in accordance with GRE administrative rules for project approval, change orders and invoice payment. Developing and maintaining regular budget projections. Developing project RFPs. Negotiating project costs and schedule with all vendors and stakeholders. Managing project resources and coordinating project workload. Managing strategic partner project managers. Managing contractors to assure completion, quality of performance and stakeholder satisfaction. Monitoring installation activities and resolving all issues including scope, MOP and schedule. Frequent walkthroughs at all construction sites to ensure proper construction processes. Responsible for specific projects, programs, and portions of larger projects or processes. Implementing practices that aid in the successful completion of projects within a functional area. Participation in stakeholder, customer and local authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) meetings as required. Participation in resolving customer / AHJ problems as they pertain to facility / project concerns. Managing engineering consultants, construction contractors and equipment vendors. Financial accountability for an annually established budget.
What we're looking for... You'll need to have:
A bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience. Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training. Project management foundation and relevant experience in budget and construction management. Experience developing project scope, cost estimating and project scheduling. Experience with Triga, Word, Excel, Google suite, Smartsheets, and Procore.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
A bachelor's degree in an engineering, architecture, or other construction related field. Familiarity with roof, facade, MEP, fire alarm, and BMS design and construction. Ability to interact with multiple stakeholders to identify needs, and clearly communicate facts in a professional manner. Detail oriented with strong analytical and leadership skills. Strong communication and presentation skills with an ability to give succinct updates to leadership. Strong organizational and time management skills. Professional communications skills, both verbally and written. Detailed understanding of the project life cycle.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $108,000.00 - $188,000.00.
