Essential Job Functions: The incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation. - Properly greet PETCO visitors and handle the reception area traffic in a manner that ensures a professional environment is maintained. - Efficiently operate the PETCO switchboards, answer phone calls, take detailed messages and direct calls to the appropriate party. - Prepare and produce paper visitor badges; ensure all visitors have proper identification (PETCO lanyard) prior to entry. - Activate, deactivate and print access control badges with and without pictures. - Maintain daily sign-in logs, both hard copy and electronically. - Ensure lobby area is maintained in neat and orderly condition throughout the day. - Remain cognizant of any suspicious activity occurring at or near front door; inform security or manager of same in a prompt, professional manner. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Work Environment: Most tasks are performed while seated indoors at a personal computer. Education (Required): high school diploma, GED or equivalent Work Experience (Required): Requires excellent verbal communication skills and phone etiquette. Requires functional knowledge of several MS Office applications, e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Must be customer service driven and be able to effectively multi-task as needed. Must be able to operate effectively with little or no immediate supervision.
