Position Summary

As a Senior Field Service Engineer, you will have advanced product/technical expertise and demonstrated proficiency in assigned essential job functions and areas of product focus. In this role, you will support the Special Sales Quoting (SSQ) process, serviceability/reliability reviews, service documentation development, high-level troubleshooting/technical support on a focused product line and initial product training to technical support personnel and service trainers. To be successful, you must have exceptional communication skills and practical experience with the service and repair of electronic and/or electromechanical equipment.

This is a remote position. To support and service our Customers, candidates must be based in a location with reasonable access to an airport (30-45 minutes).

Ability to travel up to 25% is required (including overnight and international).

What You'll do as a Senior Field Service Engineer

  • Provide technical input to support the Special Sales Quoting (SSQ) process, order fulfillment and installation of field conversions.
  • Participate in the new product development process assuring that all Service requirements are completed prior to product release. Requirements include: Design reviews for serviceability/reliability, service plan generation, service documentation and procedure development, defining service parts, outlining service training and tracking equipment performance.
  • Create, review and update technical documentation including; IQOQ documentation, Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), service & maintenance manuals, field servicing procedures, etc.
  • Act as an escalation point for resolution of technical issues on given product assignment. Provide on site technical support, as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze technical problems. Collaborate cross-functionally with current products engineering, quality, supply chain, R&D, etc. to resolve immediate issues and implement changes to prevent future problems.
  • Identify and implement service operational improvement ideas for assigned product responsibilities.
  • Perform service & maintenance training on assigned products to technical support personnel, field service representatives, and customers .
  • Develop service kits and qualify service replacement parts.

The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed

Required:



  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the service and repair of both electronic and electromechanical equipment.
  • Must be able to to compliant with customer credentialing requriements
  • Strong organization, planning and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with all levels of employees, as well as Customers and other external contacts.



Preferred:



  • Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and interpret a variety of technical data and documents preferred.
  • Proficiency in control programming and program modification for industrial style PLC and/or PC controls required, Siemens experience preferred.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Pay range for this opportunity is$90,737.50-$117,425.00.This position is eligible forbonus participation.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
